Huge nerf to solo/outdoor gear progression in DF Season 1

Yet you want to skip by boosting by buying multiple accounts and you want gear without having to do content ?

An example of why gear mattered for me is when i entered Zerith Mortis with my warlock, i spent most of my time healing my demon because his health just would not stay up long enough for me to DPS.

Once i got better gear, he stayed alive long enough for me to actually join in on killing things.

The level of my gear made a huge difference in my enjoyment of the game.

I capped out at 50 toons, and most of them were boosted. OH NO, the horror.
Time > Money. It just is.

I have tons of money. I can buy lots. But I canā€™t buy time back.

Careful. You might upset people with facts around here.

So this is a job to you. Not a game.

You did get gear then. See, you didnā€™t need better drops.

Yes, thatā€™s the whole point. Thatā€™s how gear has worked since 2004. More engaged content = better gear. Have you even played this game?

Lemme just give my own meaningless two coppers here. Iā€™m a solo player, I donā€™t go past LFR and heroics, I play the game for mostly solo reasons and I donā€™t really care about my item level, though obviously having gear that looks nice/has a nifty set bonus is an awesome feeling and motivating factor.

All I want at the end of the day is to be able to reach a point in character power where I can pop off on elites and world bosses and feel either strong enough to kill it comfortably if itā€™s a mob intended to be fought solo, or that my contribution matters in the case of a world boss. I donā€™t expect to be top DPS. I donā€™t expect to feel like Iā€™m ever geared enough to trivialize the content. I just wanna reach the point where Iā€™m not one castbar from being pasted by an AOE I missed, or soloing elites isnā€™t a five minute battle of attrition.

In my opinion, that level of character power, regardless of the item level number associated with it should absolutely be attainable through solo play. No one should disagree with this. Contrary to some of the assertions here, I, the hated casual scum, donā€™t want Mythic-equivalent gear, Iā€™ve never held a piece of Mythic gear that wasnā€™t 2+ expansions old and I donā€™t expect that to change. I just wanna grill, so to speak.

You know that i am perfectly happy with gearing in zerith mortis.
I told you i thought it was a great system and i wish it had been carried over to dragonflight.

Ive had no complaints about that.

It is being carried over, albeit, itā€™s going to be the Invasions again, like patch 8.1 and 7.2.

Which honestly, you should be ecstatic about since itā€™s rare for a x.0 patch to even have catch up like this.

na, iā€™ve been getting paid to talk to you this whole time.

The problem is that you have an extremely vocal minority saying that they want mythic-level gear and a bunch of other people exacerbating that and saying ā€œLook, all the filthy casuals want better gear for playing open world content! Get a load of this!ā€

Yeah but with weaker gear, that you can only upgrade once, and you cant play the game on your own schedule as invasions only happen during certain hours of the day.

I dont like how its looking.
But as i said before, im going to have to get it in my hands before i know how i feel about it.

Realistically speaking, those could very well be the same people. They often work in pairs.

Put one on his backfoot, and more show up just like clockwork. They are all like >> send halp on discord.

Live previous invasions, youā€™ll always run into one on your own schedule. The currency farm is weekly, so you donā€™t need to do all of them.

Thatā€™s the thing that drives me insane when it comes to these conversations. I adore so much of the solo gameplay that WoW has. I did all 36 Legion mage towers and it is some of the most fun Iā€™ve ever had. Content that I could only do alone. I want there to be good solo content in WoW, I adore a lot of it, but I also want itā€™s awards to be commensurate with the level of effort.

Personally I would have done the mage towers if the only thing they awarded was an achievement, hell I would have done them if they awarded nothing, because the challenge of learning how to use the entire toolkit of a class/spec was incredibly fun. But never at any point did I think "man I really should have a BiS rogue after doing all 3 of these towers.

Yep exactly, Iā€™m the same. Did 29/36 in Legion for Mage Towers, leveled alts on classes I literally never play to do them.

I did 14 on the new iteration, have all the mog sets unlocked except Priest (still need to get that done). When they finally removed the ā€œtemporaryā€ aspect which was the only problem with the whole thing, the content became a legit fun solo challenge even though they broke a lot of the encounters for certain specs.

Enjoyed Horific Visions a whole lot. Farmed gear on a few alts with it, full 5 mask solo runs.

Blizzard has been trying to make raiding a thing since Vanilla. Same WoW team, same silly belief that they can force players to do what devs want them to do.

Itā€™s fine. Iā€™ll play. Then Iā€™ll unsub. My expectations are really low.

so ā€¦ everyone should be satisfied with nothing because you are? Thatā€™s your whole speilā€¦

Since they last 2 hours and there are 6 hours between each one, that means this is 1 invasion every 8 hours for 3 a day.

But that would mean they happen at the exact same time every single day.

So if they happened at 4 - 6 and you usually play 7 - 9 youll never see one without adjusting your own hours.

Thats just my understanding of it and i would love to be wrong

So Iā€™m sure this has been mentioned before. But in the end if youā€™re not raiding then gear doesnā€™t really matter. Think it does all you want but you can have a blast in the game as a solo person just doing everything you want without raiding or doing keys. But again if your not raiding gear really doesnā€™t matter.
