Take a game like Diablo or Path of Exile. You can level your character, do story mode, and finish the campaign.
At that point you can choose to do end-game content like Greater Rifts in Diablo and Maps in Path of Exile, or you can choose to go back and re-run old campaign content. Re-running old campaign content is not end-game just because you can choose to do it.
Did they turn the guns into foam swords and now you canât lose since everyone is a winner ?
How did Dragon Age: Inquisition change ? Can you know just ignore everything and become a fisher on the coast ?
How did Vampire Survivors change ? Is there now a mode where you can just drink tea and discuss things civilly with all the hordes of whatever trying to stop you from surviving ?
Did Guybrush Treepwood stop wanting to become a pirate in Secret of Monkey Island and decided to be buddies with Lechuck ?
Im a solo world content player myself.
I liked the cypher system we had. It felt good and rewarding. It didnt go higher than normal raid level so it wasnt bis gear.
Tbh i would be happy with being capped somewhere between lfr and normal after doing a few months of grinding.
I dont think ive ever actually seen someone say they want great gear and they want it quick and easy.
The fact is : games are the games. They donât adjust to how players want them to be, they present a certain challenge, and you either overcome it or you go play something else.
DOOM Eternal isnât going to magically become a game about grooming cute dogs because some players donât like smashing demons from hell.
Iâve said this before. Blizzard just needs to make a Casual Mode Server where you can buy everything from vendors with tokens you get from open world. Then have a separate Hardcore Mode Server where things are the way they are, rewarding players for completing challenging content.
They have separate servers for casuals so they can buy everything, including gear for currency?
Maybe all you need is your own little island so you can make demands and changes that wonât impact the rest of us who do enjoy challenging content and the reward/progression model.
