Can confirm this. Hyjal earlier this morning. My poor undead rogue wasn’t building combo points. Could only use mutilate. Not mounting. Same thing happening yesterday on my NE warrior leveling in Drustvar. Quests being taken but the exclamation mark still being above quest giver’s head…had to exit game, restart the entire thing. Common cause seems to be assaults messing with the zones mechanics? An assault was just beginning in Zandalar just as with the warrior in Drustvar, active assault. It’s annoying as hell.
Also experiencing this frequently. Logging out sometimes fixes it but after playing for a little while it starts happening again. Hoping the patch tomorrow fixes it…
I experienced this last night on my new Void Elf Priest. All through Dustwallow Marsh and Theramore. Invisible mount. Quest objectives don’t update. Quests don’t show as accepted on my mini-map and don’t match what’s in my quest log. Very frustrating.

I’ve run into this issue on occasion, especially while leveling alts. I’ve found that if you exit the game, exist the bnet launcher, and then open task manager and make sure Agent.exe and all other Blizzard applications are terminated, then start them all back up again, it appears to fix itself. I recommend trying that.
Yep this seems to be worse now after patch…very annoying.
Still happening for me too. DH seems to have it worst, but my Druid’s done it a time or two as well. It happens most often in BfA content, but it’s also occurred in WoD at least twice I can remember. I’ve had the ‘stuck in Demon/cat form’, ‘swim flying in flight form/running on invisible mount’, ‘die and can’t ressurect’, ‘can’t accept or turn in quests’, and ‘health not updating until dead’.
Not always the same symptoms at once, but once it starts there doesn’t seem to be anything that fixes it short of logging off for at least a few minutes. Logging out and back in immediately will fix the problem for a few minutes, but within 5-10 the symptoms will be back.
Scan and Repair doesn’t seem to help, nor does disabling addons.
Right so I’d been hoping the Scan & Repair would fix this, but the bug is happening to me again right now, on my DK this time. Really, really disappointed in Blizzard’s performance this xpac, it feels like the buggiest the game has been in a long time, especially with this particular bug hanging on as long as it has.
This mounting issue happens to me a lot as well lately.Daily occurance as at 23/01/2019.
And the grand tmog mount from MoP will quite often bury itself underground when you go to mount up on it,all that is left visible is the cab with the vendors either buried or half visible but will not respond to interaction.
I have disabled addons for a day to test and it still happens. I cannot /reload to fix I have to restart the game client.

Happened to me today for the first time. Was on my ret pally in a warfront (stromgarde) and tried to attack something. There was a quick fps lag and then I couldn’t generate holy power, died/was revived/was still dead on my screen, mounted but running, etc.
After the warfront ended everything went back to normal. Hopefully that’s the end of it but from the other posts in this forum topic it looks like this is just the beginning
This was only happening on my horde demon hunter but it’s now happening on Nightborne Monk as well.
I do not use ElvUI and never have, doubt that’s the issue.
I don’t use either of these addons, and I’m having this issue.
Trust me, this isn’t an addon issue. I get it with or without addons. I don’t even use elvui. This is a BLIZZARD issue, which they are IGNORING. Maybe if someone starts reporting posts, they’ll have to read about the problem?
What this bug does:
- Invisible Mount
- No Automatic Dismounting
- No quest credit
- No quest tracking when taking new quests
- No combo point generation
- Unable to use stealth abilities while in stealth
- “Stuck in combat”
- Stuck in shapeshift forms (druids, DH, ghost wolf)
- Player health bar no longer updates
- Staying in the spirit realm after resurrection
Classes this bug is affecting so far:
- Paladin
- Demon Hunter
- Rogue
- Monk
- Druid
- Death Knight
- Shaman
There’s your list so far Blizzard. This is getting out of control and it’s spreading like wildfire. SEVEN of TWELVE classes reach a state in the game where they are unplayable from this bug, a bug whose only solution is for players to close the game. Why has this been left without a response for a month now?

Perfect summary of the issues I’m having and (in a way) I am glad to know it is not just me.
Closing the game will sometimes only temporarily correct the issue. Within a few minutes of restarting the game the issues are back again. Frustrating.
AND can I just say - “Swimming” through the air when I’m supposed to be mounted was cute for a few minutes. Less cute was ending up dead when my health bar showed full (wot?). But then, that whole “staying in the spirit realm after resurrection” thing?
Sort of existential on a level I was not really ready for. Am I Dead? Am I Not? I am both! What does it all mean and when can it end so I can just. get. the. heritage armor. grrrr
@Blizzard: I’m just a Highmountain Tauren Shaman, stuck standing around in this game, wondering what on Azeroth is going on.
From the Q&A video, it is very helpful for us to list these things:
- Toon & Server Name
- Time and Day
- Zone you’re in when it happens
- What you were doing

Oh hey, I didn’t see this thread before.
I’ve managed to find a way to reproduce the issue consistently and have also been able to write up a much more detailed list of symptoms than just the few that are echoed here.
Still happening to me too. I’ve run after scan and repair with no addons, doesn’t help.
This thread has been near the top for a while now, and zero blue posts. Blizz, I am very close unsubbing until I see in this thread that it has been fixed. Leveling alts is basically impossible.

@blue is this ever going to be addressed? been going on for the entire BFA expansion, and nothing has even been noted or talked about yet about this issue, and its happening across the board…
