The surest way I have found to overcome this issue, which I have experienced 3 or 4 times over the week or two, is to reboot my pc. That leads me to believe that WoW is somehow mismanaging memory, perhaps. Even closing WoW entirely and restarting it doesn’t seem to fix the issue, but a pc restart does. I haven’t tried this, but perhaps closing out WoW and ending any Blizzard processes and starting Wow up again would work as well.
This has been happening to me as well. It might be related to large number of players and/or lag in specific zones. Occasionally quest turn-ins and/or looting corpses are affected at the same time. Sometimes logging out/in again will fix it. Sometimes it will not. It is very annoying.
Can confirm. I had this happen this morning with two separate mounts (that is to say, it’s not a specific mount that is bugged), in Vol’dun, about 0930 EST.
I’ve had this bug happen to me twice while questing on the Broken Shore. It’s really annoying.
I’m getting the bug constantly today. I’m starting to wonder if the only real option is to submit a bug report every time this happens.

This has been happening to me too. At first I thought I was just lagging really bad but my ping was normal and chat was fine.
Yep ive had the invisible mount on a few characters its really random so its hard to tell whats causing it.
If you have the grand expedition mount it does show it but it looks like half of the mount is underground, i also can so do quests but when i loot stuff it doesnt show up in my bags only when i log out and back in the loot is there, this is really starting to piss me off now.
Same issues here. Mine is happening on a character I transferred servers on, an d it is very consistent on this character.
When my mount disappears, I lose all function, I can no longer press skills, fishing is laughable, as I can’t click on the bobber.
Has anyone with Blizzard answered this yet?
I started having these problems again a couple days ago while doing WQ at the Mildenhall Meadery on my monk. She stopped gaining combo points and couldn’t use any abilities that require them. She used her flight whistle to get out of the area, then took the flight path to Brennandam, where she couldn’t summon a visible mount. Parked her in the inn, logged out, logged back in, and everything was fine.
One thing I noted was that, shortly after she logged back in, a Horde assault on the zone started. My own experiences with this bug, and a lot of the comments I’ve seen about it seem to connect these things to the assaults. Like even if an assault isn’t currently happening, one is about to happen. So maybe there’s some connection to the game client starting to preload assets so they’re ready, and that’s interfering with current actions?
Having the same issue while leveling. My mount shows up under my Buffs, but my character is flying/running instead in Northrend. My mount would show for a time in Stormwind. Unable to dismount, combat does not dismount, only solution to dismounting has been to right click the Mount icon on my Buff bar to “dismount”. I’ve relogged, but still had the issue.
No lag on my end, running a scan and repair, hope they solve this soon.
EDIT: Scan and Repair through Battle net client worked!
I’m gonna try scan and repair because I’m having the same issue as well as not being able to turn in quests nor will the quests icon disappear once I’ve accepted them. It’s a major pain.
Have been experiencing this for the last week or so myself. Along with invisible mounting (while being able to run at mount speed, showing a running animation / flying animation while not on mount. these things have been
happening to me :
Quests are not progressing, combo points / rage / holy power is not being generated, getting into combat keeps you in combat for A LOOOOOONG time after combat, quest givers are not giving quests / accepting turned in quests.
Relogging sometimes fixes it, other wise i have to delete my WTF and CACHE folders from my WoW folder, and then restarting the game fixes the issue.
Happens randomly, or after 30-1 hour of consistent playing.
I am running without mods/addons and this happens often. It is definitely a problem in WOW.
Having the same issue today. Both in WQs, Warfronts, and a low level alt in Durotar.
Still a thing, happened on my 112 Monk I’ve been leveling. A few things I noticed:
- I think the inciting incident was accepting Air Raid (or maybe Farmers Who Fight) from Lieutenant Tarenfold. I noticed that once I accepted the second of the two quests he offers his yellow exclamation mark didn’t turn into a grey question mark, though both quests were in my log. I mounted soon after and that’s when the problems started happening.
- While “mounted” I couldn’t interact with anything - couldn’t cast spells, couldn’t “loot” quest objects, and the addon responsible for my mounting/dismounting couldn’t dismount me when I pressed its hotkey (like it usually does).
- After being dismounted, abilities kind of work again but resource generation is wonky. On my paladin, when I experience this, I just stop generating Holy Power in combat, and all of my HP is awarded to me once I leave combat. On my monk I noticed that the first few Tiger Palms don’t generate any chi, but then at some point I get a bunch of chi and all my abilities work just fine for a bit.
- Running
/dismountor being dismounted from combat damage allows me to use my abilities again, though resource generation continues to be weird.
I grabbed a couple of short videos of this. I don’t know how useful they are, and this is the first time I record footage, but maybe there is something in them that’s useful to QA.
It’s still happening. I’ve been leveling my Demon Hunter through Legion questing(lvl 107, in Highmountain atm) and it’s happening to me right now along with a few other issues such as quests not clearing when turned in and even having the directions on my movement reversed with turning impossible, DURING COMBAT so you can imagine how much that sucked. There aren’t any invasions going on right now, the zone is normal, not sure what triggered it.
Yea, same thing here. Mount not showing, abilities that cost classpower not working. I’ve talked to a GM about it and he said that its most likely my internet which i dont believe seeing how many people run into this problem. I should also mention that whilst it happens my ping/frames are stable and normal.
I would LOVE a response and that people at Blizz actually look into this. Having to close the game and wait for it to MAYBE fix during a BG or a dungeon is not acceptable!

Okay so the invisible mount bit happened again to me today while playing my Demon Hunter, and I noticed it started after the visual effect for my Metamorphosis wouldn’t turn off. I remember experiencing similar on my Druid while doing the new Darkshore quests, it was a weird form of lag where the incorrect form would keep showing after I’d shifted to a different form and just generally mess up my ability to function as a Druid, and my mounts were invisible on top of that. So does changing “form” have something to do with it?
Gotta say, I’m not happy with the amount of bugs that made it into this patch release, and it’s ridiculous that Blizzard hasn’t fixed this yet.
This is happening more and more often, can only tiger palm but it wont generate chi, invisible mounts, errors saying I’m mounted, if i make it to a flight point when it happens and take the flight path character literally does the swim animation to to the next FP location.
If i distance myself from the problem area and i mean really distance myself all the issues above correct themselves together in a instant.
And yes, all add ons disabled, great FPS/Ping ect.
