Perfect. Thanks for the update!
The fact gold buying isn’t handled this way is insane too me.
First Offense - 6 month Ban
Second Offense - Perma Ban
Edit: But I get it, they let the bots and sellers stay around long enough to make money so they will keep buying subs/accounts when one account does get banned. It’s purely for Blizzard to make money.
Theyve talked in the past how really long bans just mean people will make new accounts and cheat again… or just quit forever. Both awful results.
But a 2 week timeout at least gets ppl to keep playing on their main account…
Yea I don’t really understand it at all. To further blow your mind, remember that people buy gold on HC servers. Like… why on earth would you do that on a character who will inevitably be deleted!?
I just don’t understand humanity sometimes.
Some people have a lot of money / are really awful with money.
Theres a reason 50% of Americans cannot afford a 1,500 emergency haha
That’s objectively not true (What they said, not you). People don’t widely hack because it will perma ban their account. If people know that there are serious consequences for gold buying then they wouldn’t do it in the first place. In their minds it wouldn’t even be a real option because of the punishment.
The punishments for it now are so pointless that gold buyers openly brag about it in game and on the forums because they know it’s fine.
microsoft sells gold with tokens and RMTs with cosmetics, minor turf war with Indonesians
I wasn’t even trying hard and had 450g first week by 40, 1300 after ZF farming to 54. You are just really bad at the game and have no idea how the market works after 20 years lol
you think poor people or people without discretionary income are paying for gold? haha
Yeah they are, there is a very large segment of poor people who make enough money to stop being poor but make bad choices
Those are both good results. If they make a new account, they have to re-level. Which is more active levelers. And it might make them think twice about cheating again. If they quit forever good riddance.
As much as other players may want gold-buyers permanently banned and gone forever, Blizzard doesn’t want that (that is, they never resubscribe under a new account).
14 days is too lenient. 30 days is better.
Just read the reddit thread about the alleged ban wave. It’s filled with people admitting buying gold. Huge contrast to this forum.
No, they just buy more gold and buy a boost.
Im betting most of them hold it on a gold mule parked next to a mailbox so its never in danger of being lost.
So ban em again, and again, and again. If they give up and quit who cares.
Yea, for raw gold sure, but the actual stuff they buy with it? Like, epic mounts and BoE gear go up in smoke when your HC char biffs it.
Thats the risk they take, among others. But unless they legit are content with the prospect of lighting potentially hundreds of dollars on fire with just a single bad pull or respawn, i imagine thats how they handle the gold they buy.
For sure, which is crazy… and my whole point
Paying money to skip content in a game you pay for is already mind blowing. Doing the same on a character that will be deleted is… I don’t even know a word for that.
Yes. Because ive played wow with people who buy gold and i question how they manage to eat food with their salary nevermind pay for a wow sub + buy gold.
