Hpal Is Actually Balanced

Hey gamers, so I’ve played every hpal covenant besides necrolord (lol) at a fairly high level this season, each of which are equipped with really fun and interesting abilities. There’s no doubt hpal is a solid healer with some pretty incredible strengths. The issue is, two of them have exploitable weaknesses while one essentially has none. That’s right, it’s Kyrian - more specifically, Divine Toll. As you all know, Divine Toll is basically an aoe lay on hands that also fills your holy power every minute, allowing you to press at least three more instant heals afterward. Oh yeah, and you can press it while locked on holy. It’s the best button hpal has ever seen. I strongly believe Divine Toll is the main culprit for why hpal is overpowered; so if you directly nerf hpal, you’re only making hpals in other covenants worse, thereby funneling more hpals into the Kyrian covenant and the problem still lingers - Divine Toll being the best button hpal has ever seen. Blizzard, there’s no way around nerfing a button which aoe tops your team while also filling your holy power bar, so please consider reworking it for the next major patch. The other covenants’ main abilities buffs your team (ashen hallow/blessings of seasons), so maybe Divine Toll could be a mass Seraphim instead. Idk yet.

TLDR: Hpal is balanced and Divine Toll is the issue. Direct nerfs to hpal makes the problem worse.

Also remove big sac -_^

I too play mental gymnastics when making forum posts.

DHs, MW, Rdruids, and Unholy DKs are actually very good, the meta is just too fast for them currently. Once the meta slows down, they will be top tier. However, I am unsure of when this will occur. Thanks. Do not buff them, they are fine.

Buff this other arbitra… cough… Buff Feral druids, they need more offhealing and cc, cyclone is not enough cc and hard casting it is a decrease in DPS when they already don’t have enough consistent dps.

How did I display mental gymnastics? I laid out what makes hpal overpowered and how to fix it. It’s not that deep.

Frost dk is actually very bad it is just nercolord covenant that is keeping them alive by buffing Frost dk you will not change the nercolord covenant. What you actually need to do is rework the other covenants and make them better
Edit: you can claim any convent is good for any class thats what they are for

Cant oom
Beacon on 1-2 targets allowing them to AoE heal (a former weakness)
Best healer to deal with bursty meta with immunities and sacs
All insta healing or aura masteried healing
Plate armor
Divine toll being arcane school

I agree hpal mana could be tuned a little and I addressed divine toll being a different school than holy. Hpal has always had the other things you pointed out and they’re not what makes hpal broken.

I feel as if fire mages are balanced if we removed combustion and triune ward, seem fine really

Different season different things that make them broken.

They are leagues ahead of other healers to the point i refuse to q with anything else

Yes, and Divine Toll is the major reason why hpal is broken this season. You literally top your entire team, then get 3+ instant casts after that. Tell me hpal is the same if you reworked that…

Its a great start tbh

Oh sorry I legit thought you were trolling, but I completely disagree, nerfing kyrian won’t fix holy paladin.

Hpaladin is better than disc and rshaman in most comps, in most situations. Hpaladin is playing in a different expansion than rdruids, and MWers are dead from rogue mage before the gates open.

Have you played other healers this xpac or are you just basing your opinion on changing convenants and going down in rating?

Well, you’re entitled to your opinion, but I think reworking divine toll is the biggest step to fixing hpal. Moreover, it’s unfair to even bring up rdru and mw since they don’t satisfy any standards to begin with. They flat out need buffs. I have not played any other healer, that’s why my post was specifically about hpal.

From what I read in your post is that if you fix divine toll, that paladins will be balanced? Compared to what exactly… if you aren’t comparing them to Rdruid and MW who exactly are they on the same level with?

You did not include buffs to any healers just a nerf to divine toll. Maybe edit your post?

OP is right. I tried Hpal for a while after giving up on MW and the spec feels almost naked without divine toll. You feel like you can’t come back from most situations like the other healers and this applies to PvE too. Divine toll is Holy paladins strongest ability in most games, except for possibly ultimate sacrifice.

i’d rather they just buff weak abilities instead of nerfing strong ones

faeline stomp for example

Not sure what you don’t understand about this being a post specifically about fixing hpal

Fixing hpaladin in regards to what? You think nerfing divine toll will make MW and hpaladin balanced?

no but if u nerf big sac and divine toll it will make hpal disc and rsham balanced

dunno what kind of mental gymnastics u have to go thru to insinuate nerfing hpala buffs mw but here we r I guess

Imagine there’s a standard for balance which every healer should be at. Atm, hpal is way above it while mw is way below it. In my opinion, reworking divine toll helps bring hpal down to the standard level of balance, and buffing mw brings it up to that standard. Your misunderstanding is you think I’m addressing all healers, when I’m just discussing how to bring hpal down to the balance standard.

So you want all healers to be brought up to the level paladins are at without divine toll? Oh count me in man. Why didn’t you say so!
