While the guild itself only allows for Tauren, Taunka, Highmountain and yaungol to join our ranks save for the very special case of one of our member’s Our events are very much not hard coded to be our races only. Recently in fact a joint campaign between ourselves and the War Wolves happened that was not planned to be joint. We had two separate guild campaigns going on that we connected to one another because it worked. Story Circle, and more events I have in the works in the future are welcome to be attended by any race of the horde. And depending on placing and more, Neutrals as well as alliance.
Well. It’s been a few days. They have not been the best. I came back here, taking a breath before opening it and–
–sweet merciful crap, people are still being kind? Kudos.
Sips tea in Vana

refuse! I’m gonna be nice until someone really backhands me verbally and then I’m gonna be hilarious
It took me a moment to realize that you were the one who had played Horde for 17 years, but were a bit anxious. So, when I see the “Clear Head, See Red” behind the name?
I’ll admit part of me got a little bit of a - if you will allow the phrase - “eeeeee”.
I like to see this. I’m happy you’re giving things a shot.
More importantly, I like to see that everyone else is working together. Up to and including responding politely if people snap at them. I know that’s not always easy (especially on the internet, where it’s far too easy to forget that these aren’t just avatars, but there are people behind them), so good show. I don’t like naming names, but I saw one very powerful example where someone just asked “What would you do to help?” or “What would help you?” and that olive branch created genuine discourse.
Keep at it, Horde people. To steal a phrase from someone “Make sure we have a movement, and not a moment.”

Now we’re cooking with blight.
…
…much like pretzel-boy?
You are on the thinnest of ice.

Advertisements ahould be meant for everyone especially if you’re trying to get new people and new blood flowing. It shouldn’t be for just a select few.
I do see the point that you’re making. There are a lot of people who - for various reasons - won’t ever see anything on Discord. Or they may consider it a bridge too far.
But I would argue that just as advertisements should be for everyone, we also should not limit ourself to one type of ads. Forums are definitely one way to do it. As are Discords. As is /Trade, if you can deal with…Trade. As is /yelling in SW/Orgrimmar. Or TRPs.
In a way, though, I do agree with you. It should not be limited to Discord. But I also don’t think it should exclude Discord. What I would like to see is that if one person sees it on Discord, for example? They’ll tell someone in game about it. Someone on the forum could say something to someone in game. Etc.

What would people want to see more of H-side?
Things like this warm my heart. Having a goal and such can help so much. Keep at it.

MG-H and UCN have given me the space to be creative with both of my characters (Calletha and Glibnack the Leper Gnome) and the way in which I want to develop them, and I very much appreciate that. That’s not something you will find on every server nor on horde elsewhere in my experience; it’s why MG-H is worth staying and playing on.
Good. I agree. I think we’re all trying to get more people to have this kind of experience. It’s nice to see a success story, now and then. Reminds people of what the goal is.
A spar night? In Orgrimmar?
Puts on possibly sneaky help/possibly arrogant presumption hat on
Well, that’s a good way to get some things going. And I’m sure it would be free to attend, and you won’t have to worry about any possibly unscrupulous members of the Horde running some kind of illegal gambling racket and setting up “authentic” ticket salespeople.
Or potentially some snooty nightborne watching from the expensive not-seats, smirking to each other and acting as though this is a replacement for Suramar’s zoo.
Sin’dorei diplomats trying very hard to understand why there’s just a violent fistfight in this already inhospitable climate (I’m assuming Orgimmar). Whining about the noise, maybe.
Maybe other orcs doing color commentary on behalf of the “Lok’tar Low’Down”, the premier source for everything you need to know about Blood, Thunder, and Zug Zug.
In all seriousness, I do wish you the best with the event. And want people to not lose sight too much that just because an event isn’t something your character specifically might be interested in, that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t be able to find something to do there that your character would.
Good luck!
I’ve struggled to RP as any other character other than Dloin, be it on Horde or Alliance. As such, I’ve been unable to join in on any Horde or even cross-faction RP (I only recently got the addon that enabled cross-faction communication).
However, with Earthen coming in The War Within, I am toying with the idea of making a Dloin toon on MG-Horde. It will probably be the only way I get to experience Horde RP, and it will give me an avenue to help grow random RP in Orgrimmar or Silvermoon without having to dodge guards and kill-happy PvPers.
Earthen are going to be a real interesting addition. I think now that we know more and we’re a little past the shock of their reveal, some people are excited to see what may happen with them.

(I only recently got the addon that enabled cross-faction communication).
There’s an add-on for that? I thought you either needed to be a mage or chug some potion.
Yeah, Cross RP is the name of it. I got it, but seeing as I never leave Stormwind it hasn’t really gotten any use lol
Good looking out! I too, spend a lot of time in Stormwind, though I imagine I’d probably get more use out of the addon there than you would
lol Pretty sure you killed me a few times while I had War Mode activated.
Ha, I doubt it; it’s not really my style. NPCs are fair game but I try not to kill players in world PVP (and I don’t have to try very hard, considering my lack of skill). It’s more fun for me to get into a scrap and get away without dying.

While the guild itself only allows for Tauren, Taunka, Highmountain and yaungol to join our ranks save for the very special case of one of our member’s Our events are very much not hard coded to be our races only.
Yeah that’s the experience I’ve gotten for at least the past ten or more years haha.

Story Circle, and more events I have in the works in the future are welcome to be attended by any race of the horde. And depending on placing and more, Neutrals as well as alliance.
That’s good though!
From what I understand, for Horde Roleplay you really need to join a community or a guild because walk ups are just not a thing like they are on Alliance.
Thread zombie! Blammo!
Git back n’ yer ruttin’ grave!
I’ve been trying to keep eyes on the forums a little more since this, so seeing this thread get necro’d scared the bantha poodoo out of me. Lord have mercy.
I don’t play horde but from what I’ve seen I see more horde doing cross rp with alliance than not, I’ve seen maybe one full horde rp and it was in the belf starting zone. I was on a horde alt for the allied race stuff and orgrimmar was pretty still but to be fair, thats just org, I can’t speak for other horde cities.
Holy jumping juniper berries this thread is still going on? And look, for a bit, people were doing well! And then it all went to the dump realm fast…
The same principle as I’ve stated before for any new bloods joining this wild ride of a thread - if you have questions about Moon Guard Horde and it’s RP scene, check out the Horde Vanguard community, or speak to someone that plays Horde. We’ll hook you up, let you see if the vibe is what you want.
War Wolves did an impromptu invasion of the Undercity Nexus tavern night. It was a lot of fun.
