The art team already stated that’ll never be a thing just with how the game was done - implemented such an idea would cause more issues than not if they tried.
I’d rather they fix and flesh out the current expansion than jumping into a brand new one tbh.
All an expasion is are new leveling continents, a raid, and new “systems.”
Do you really want brand new systems when they’re still fixing our current ones?

9.2 we go after the Jailer the big bad of SL . We take him on in a raid .He is defeated and Shadowlands and all of reality is saved.
What else would we need to do that would warrant a 9.3 patch that would not be more fitting for the next expansion ?
Not sure what the most recent update on this is, but there’s word that the scourge is wreaking havoc on Azeorth while we’re all playing infinity stone collector in Shadowlands.
Imagine how chilling it would be to return to Azeorth to find Stormwind/Elwynn in the state of Stratholme/Eastern Plaguelands.
Nothing is gonna happen to Stormwind tbh considering they’re gonna be updating its weather effects lol, but this is going to be the last scourge / undeath expansion they’re ever gonna be able to do, they gotta do something with this.
Shadowlands is supposed to be to WOTLK what Legion was to BC.

THey could do anything with the scourge as part of 9.2 or 9.25 . They could make it so that ending the Jailer causes the scourge to drop in place . Kind of like the Chitauri did in the first Avengers when Iron Man sent the missile into the portal severing their connection when the portal closed.
