How would YOU fix the faction "imbalance"?

Covenants are literally just the class hall just redone.

There are a lot of excellent suggestions already. For my server specifically it is impossible to play WM at all as alliance. so all the WM boosts are useless.

When it’s one person against an army people get burned out pretty quickly. So in PVP situations they’d either need to enforce mercenary play to even it out or give the outnumbered faction boosts similar to what we had in old Wintergrasp

recycling content? that would be boring, damn Activition, if nothing changes it will feel like a patch not an expansion, there must be mayor changes.

im a cynical pessimistic alliance player and i currently strive for apathy in all things WoW.

I try to set goals for myself to keep playing, right now I am getting my Dark Iron prot pally to 120 and a human warlock to 120 in preparation for the one mythic+ affix week that isn’t complete garbage this season. That means it will be like 12 weeks before we get this one decent week of affixes again.

I’m the last person blizzard should hire they should at least get someone who still cares about the story and is willing to stand up for it.

Its literally a concept that we have seen in other games, but this time with different themes and mechanics but they all offer power based upon your choice.

Its not a faction replacement.

Honestly? The honest answer is you’d have to start off by making all of the Alliance racials OP for the duration of Shadowlands. People don’t like that answer but it starts from the top and works its way down. If Method thinks it’s a mathematical error not to go Alliance they will, and other guilds will follow suit.

But you have a clear understanding of the problem and, by the story you just told, have a passion for the Alliance, which obviously does not exist at the dev level.

i was just making a joke lol I wouldnt actually talk like that in front of the entire Team 2 at Blizzard HQ lol they would probably have to sit outside on the lawn there must be so many people working on WoW.

says the undead human . … nice logic there buddy.

I know you’re not an idiot, don’t pretend to be one.

Ok, you’re probably not pretending.

No, I’m an author, a real one and I once tried to explain this mess to my editor and he thought I was joking.

There is only one way to fix the imbalance at this point.

Remove the imbalance by removing the restrictions on factions. Anything else requires players to do something and that hasn’t worked and won’t work.

My ally toon is on stormrage and its a ghost town. In fact, ive been apart of 3 guilds that xferred horde. One of them I just xferred a horde char and they were amazed at how easy it was to recruit. They did pretty well on alliance but hit a ceiling when recruitment was stale. Xferred over and in two days had a raid team ready and got to the last boss of the Mythic raid.

The playerbase is just too good, theres really no reason to stay alliance in its current iteration, too much dmg has been done. They need to get rid of factions, it doesnt even make sense from a story standpoint anymore.

I thought stormrage was the alliance megaserver?

Give the Alliance more interesting Allied races. Now with the Vulpera going to the Horde the faction balance is about to become much worst.

this. give Alliance sethrak. don’t care if the lore doesn’t support it all that well yet, new story can be written. Everything the horde got with vulpera (beast race built off a parent allied skeleton that was introduced in 8.0 and has a very different silhouette than that parent race), the alliance gets with sethrak. Blizzard needs to add in a reptilian race anyways for us dragonborn/lizardfolk/argonian fans.

Getting existing guilds to reroll Alliance shouldn’t be a goal. Getting more players to play Alliance should be.

THAT’S the problem, though. When the horde (rightfully) needed help, Blizzard implemented things with the GOAL of getting Alliance players and guilds to reroll horde.

Now, they’re just putting in a few buffs and wondering why they’re not getting the same results.

I would NOT support letting people roll whatever race on either faction. That would completely destroy faction fantasy and identity.

BUT. There’s zero reason not to allow cross-faction grouping so people can play on the faction they want but still have plenty of queue pops. No one can tell me that my Nelf druid going through Maraudon or Darkthicket is in any way different in flavor or fantasy than my troll druid doing it. Instances aren’t affected by faction or RP, we do them over and over again for gear and rep and that’s it.
