I will play both depending on how much fun I find in either.
For me fun in classic would be wPvP where levels/gear power are low to reasonable. Not interested in 2-shot ‘PvP’.

People are probably just going to sink their teeth into both. There’s literally nothing stopping anyone from playing both since they’re on the same subscription. People resubbing for classic will also probably stop into BfA to check it out too.
You’ll probably see a lot less people around Boralus in late August and September, though.
The game already has that lol. Did you watch the MDI ?
I remember the days when people could have a conversation without posting memes. Those were the days.
Watch your clever mouth
My apologies. I assure you that it won’t happen again, ma’am.
Nah, after a month or two only the players who truly want to play an old-style MMO will keep playin’ Classic (I consider myself one of them).
Most people will try Classic, not have the patience for it, then go back to Modern WOW with all its catch-up mechanics and ways to speed-level to end-game.
Classic is purely to:
A. fill a niche for old-school gamers
B. combat the private servers that keep sproutin’ up
and C. FGor those of us who got started in later expacs(BC here so nit that much later but still ya know) and who are tired of all the REAL newcomers who keep saying ‘oh its no big deal lol’ well here ya go kiddies
BOOT CAMP FTW!
Short Answer: It won’t.
Long Answer: It will, but only for 2-3 months, which is nothing in the long run.
Nah. Retail has a long way to go before it gets Classic bad in that regard.
Just because certain classes are stacked in the MDI doesn’t mean other specs aren’t viable in challenging content. Not like in Classic. But then again…is there even challenging 5 man content in Classic?
You can’t divide by zero, so nothing will change with BFA’s population.
No, but seriously. Why are you worried? BFA isn’t worth preserving. If people hate it and go to Classic, good.
Spoken like a true Wrath baby, never change!
Too late for that.
Not a Wrath Baby. But thanks for making up things about me!
Still not nearly as bad as Classic shrug
During lulls. For sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if they rolled out classic to combat lulls. If things remain craptacular currently it’ll affect them a bit though i think many will still log on for raid days.
Guess that’s why players are still on private Classic servers to this day…
Research. Just look up Apex. Massive Twitch hype. Massive Twitch number. Massive initial response. Quickly died off on Twitch and activity.
Apex had other issues though. Glacial update pace, cheating was rampant, you had to play with friends or risk getting fresh Idaho potatoes.
People weren’t logging in well before that man. I know that for some reason people don’t want to admit that the older game is better, but it is. This game is literally just Diablo. Running the same dungeons over and over again trying to get a slight upgrade on the same item.
Sure the raids nowadays and mechanics make classic look silly, but the gameplay was never what brought people to WoW. People came to WoW for the community and the current systems in the game have killed the community. People will go back to classic for the exact same reason people came to Azeroth in the first place.
The lack of content won’t be a problem with the phases. Similar to how it is now some guilds will clear raids with-in the first week and that’s fine. Most players will have to progress through just like now. It won’t be a lack of content. People will stay for the community and that’s why they left this game because the community doesn’t exist anymore.
