How will blizzard go about fixing Alterac Valley?

0-39 and exalted with AV. Winning has become an afterthought at this point, but i still go in and heal best i can

If you want to get the queues down, tell horde to stop queuing if they know they aren’t going to be on in 5 hours. Kinda ridiculous to queue all 3 if you know you won’t get into av. People that take up your spots are queueing just for the sake of queueing.

If alliance have a better win percentage, better players will queue to get the honor and the tokens. In order to achieve a better win percentage, the cave needs to be moved backwards so that it is equivalent to the distance alliance have to run from Stormpike to Stonehearth.

More alliance players queueing for AV means that horde queue times would reduce drastically which also means that you guys won’t need to devote all of your time to farming random things and instead, you can just go win quickly and receive better honor.

Quicker games would attract more players because the honor bonus would be better for everyone and your queue times would continue to decrease.

it feeds upon itself when the map is balanced.

Is there a glitch in AV? Are players getting out of bounds to find faster ways to the boss?

No?

Then no fix needed.

Yeah I was playing all week and weekend and still at 0 wins. ZERO.

How many people on your team gave up after 5 minutes?

It doesn’t matter. I’ve been on team where we destroy horde all game long and I end up with 500 HKs and we still lose, games where we all push to IBGY and still lose because of the cave issue previously described, and terrible terrible teams where horde takes absolutely everything, summons Lok, the bat riders, and we get owned. A loss is a loss.

I’d like to add that I’ve been queuing for AV since level 52 and still 0 wins.

They could take the rep rewards out of AV. You would eliminate all the alliance that queue just for rep.

The horde queue times would go from 2-4 hours to probably 12-24 hours.

Then you might get both sides interested in rebalancing the map and actually get blizzard to do something about it.

Ok so you just take away alliance from av. Is that what you want? Horde queues go from 2 hours to six. Getting rid of rep rewards means getting rid of alliance. Djb is already replaceable and so are the av off hands. When aq20 comes out av will be completely dead

I wonder what the chat looked like in that 2hr 41min alliance win that I was involved in just before the previous AV weekend.

The premise of how to fix AV was the OP’s question.

Right now, there’s very little incentive for over half the PvP player base side to want to change the status quo. Yes the queues are long, but a guaranteed win for big honor is tough to turn down.

If you removed the rep rewards, you would remove what few alliance that do still queue for AV and thus neither side would be playing. Then you’d had significantly more push from both sides to fix the issue so that AV could be played again.

Finally, I don’t expect this path to ever be taken.

Good job!

Does not compute. You dominate the horde, get all the way to Drek, and lose… because of the map?

They probably let a 5 man team burn Vann for too long. That or they thought they were dominating horde while the other players took the north.

Man some Alliance are just clueless. Blizzard did fix AV, they fixed it EXACTLY how they wanted and intended it to be. Alliance was winning in premades because we are competent and can get groups together so they had to stop that right away. Can anyone give me one example of Blizzard fixing an issue as fast as they did that one. No because nothing else benefits them as THEY ARE ALL HORDE PLAYERS. They cheat in games and probably cheat in life.

dude. alliance have no idea what is going on. they dont pvp they just complain about it on forums. classic is almost over. if you are decently skilled at pvp tbc will be far better because it takes the 10v10 or 15v15 or 40v40 out of the equation. the game gets fixed next xpac pvp wise.

just think of av as tug of war. what would be fair about a tug of war where one team is closer to the rope than the other? just imagine a team that can grab the rope and start pulling even before the other group is at the rope. against a premade team that might be fair. in that case it would be called a handicap. now just imagine a handicap against a non premade group? thats what av has become. it seems bliz had two groups working on a solution to balance av. there was a map solution and there was a tech solution and they used both., breaking av for both factions. no one really wins when a bg is this broken. sorry guys thats my take.

You doubt what? It’s true. If it’s possible, feel free to look up my 100% loss rate in AV, and how much honor I’ve racked up.

I’ve never seen a tug of war where you have to run to the rope first.

Either way, fixing the imbalances are actually simple. Move horde cave back and remove the west side ramp at stonehearth. Fixing the pvp population imbalance issue is even easier: implement a minimum 15 min cooldown between exiting and entering a bg. No one actually likes this solution so the only other alternative is a complex reward based system that punishes fast victories while not overly rewarding extremely long games with an adjusting payout based on population queues (more honor for those with shorter queues and less honor for longer queues).

You mean, besides the entire cutting P2 in half because alliance on PVP servers turned out to not actually want to wpvp?
