Well good news, our “cap” is a soft cap that practically all specs have. We don’t particularly scale worse with targets. Note how all your spells say “deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets”, not “deals damage to 5 targets”.
Wtf is that long word??
I think “(in) comparison to the classes”.
False
The problem with ww is Ae scenarios is that our Ae skills have long cds and or low damage. Compared to other classes.
It is a fact that we are tar. Capped at. 5, unlike many other classes.
Not sure why they won’t uncap crane kick.
Our flurry skill from shadow pan does very poor daamge along with a very small Ae radius, which makes it dangerous for us because we have to right on top of the pack to get any true benefit, while the terrible parralax views make it unbeknowest to you, we aren’t hitting everything.
I can hit full. 20 stacked groups with flurry and watch my damage. Skyrocket to 1.6 million while other classes are doing 10 to 12++ million
If you’re peaking at 1.6mil DPS in your gear then the problem is with your play, not the spec.
Windwalker is no more or less target capped than most specs.
It isn’t, and I’m so tired of hearing it. Fists of Fury, Spinning Crane Kick, Whirling Dragon Punch, Slicing Winds, they’re all SQUARE ROOT capped at 5 targets. That means they do reduced damage beyond 5, not that it stops at 5. This is how MOST AOE ABILITIES work.
Flurry strikes itself is single target only, and the damage from it is not the main value of the hero tree. What you seem to be talking about is the shadow effect from Wisdom of the Wall, which has a perfectly acceptable aoe range from the target that flurry strikes is hitting. The main issue (to me) is that there is a bug which makes flurry strikes pick a seemingly random target within melee range to discharge onto.
Well I can hit 15m peaks

Ww is hard to Ae with, unlike Enh shaman, ret paladin, most warlocks, spriest and most mages.
Stars have to align to hot big ae numbers, unlike other classes.
And yes we are. Capped compared. To most. Other. Classes, it’s a fact.
That’s why in mplus we aren’t high on the tier rankings.
On my ret though, it’s very easy to hit big Ae numbers constantly on every pull, not. So. Much on monk
So I’m explaining to you how we’re not, and you just say “nah we are”? Care to explain why you think that? Do you want to see a graph of how we scale after 5 targets? Because we do scale after 5 targets.
Fists of Fury
Pummels all targets in front of you, dealing [5 * (138% of Attack power)] Physical damage to your primary target and [5 * (138% of Attack power) * 54 / 100] damage to all other enemies over 4 sec. Deals REDUCED damage beyond 5 targets. Can be channeled while moving.
Spinning Crane Kick
Spin while kicking in the air, dealing [4 * (10% of Attack power) * [(Attack power * 0.98)][((Attack power + Offhand attack power) * 2 / 3)] – 2H, DW / Attack power] Physical damage over 1.5 sec to all enemies within 8 yds. Deals REDUCED damage beyond 5 targets.
Reduced doesn’t mean zero. It means there’s a dampener on the aoe scaling which most aoe abilities have.
Tempest
Calls down a tremendous lightning strike that deals (310.5% of Spell power) Nature damage to your target and ((310.5% of Spell power) * 65 / 100) Nature damage to enemies within 8 yds of your target. Damage REDUCED beyond 5 targets.
Divine Storm
Unleashes a whirl of divine energy, dealing [Burning Crusade: [(116.409% of Attack power) * 1.05] Radiant / (116.409% of Attack power) Holy] damage to all nearby enemies.Deals REDUCED damage beyond 5 targets.
Flamestrike
Calls down a pillar of fire, burning all enemies within the area for (101.023% of Spell power) Fire damage and reducing their movement speed by 20% for 8 sec. Deals REDUCED damage beyond 8 targets.
Truly uncapped spells are fairly rare, and it’s even more rare that it contributes a very significant portion of that spec’s overall damage.
Any perceived aoe issues that ww has, or has had in the past, are not caused by the soft cap on our spells. The biggest reason in my view is the design of our cds.
post all you want about your self perceived mathemetic brilliance-- it doesnt translate in game and thats all that matters.
if ww monks are in the perfect spot on a pull with certain cds, their damage is abyssmal to below average.
Im sure we know what the perfect spot is
— the one where we see the damage number flying off all over the place.
se ethe difference here is that other classes do nto need that perfect placement, their abilities jsut grqviate to clumps of mobs and do great pad stat damage.
I can be anywhere on a pull with my ret and my damage is always top- period.
with WW i gotta work super hard to get good numbers.
its terrible.
this is the last season i main WW-- as after playing ret, enh, and sv, its so much easier to parse well with those classes.
I quoted tooltips at you bro.
“I don’t care what the facts are, I just feel like it’s this way.”
I mean, okay.
There’s a difference between a top 1% player like you and the rest of us.
Just because you figured out how 100% crank every pull doesn’t mean you should generalize thatnthe rest of us can do it as well.
All I know is when raiding or doing mythics I see what others are doing.
Most ww Monks struggle to get great mplus parses.
Also, once you get to 9+++ keys, ww looks better.
Until then, the hp attrition of mobs makes ww look ho hum.
I am personally having a blast on my ww monk. Even dabbling in brew some while I think brew needs some love I’m still enjoying it!
Just rofl…

The class and spec are the least of your issues.
Edited lol
Yea i make like one talent point move for raid and nothing else. Sometimes i don’t change anything at all i just go from m+ to heroic raid no problem.
SO I said in my original post that I don’t like that. An entire section of that comment is talking about how I want fist weaving to be the center of our healing and not casting. If I wanted to play cast weaver, I wouldn’t be a fist weaver, and in fact, I would probably just stop playing mw and play disc priest. That’s not what I want to do, I want to fist weave. You can read my original comment for nuance on that.
I did, I didn’t have any problem getting aotc last season with it. Probably will do it again this season just fist weaving. That’s all I want to play and all I care about. I actually drop the 4->6 talent for raid and only keep sheiluns in raid for CDR, idec about the healing it does in raid it’s just a cdr button imo. Heccccckk, I want them to fix our rotation back to always resetting RSK and TFT always resetting it, (3 seconds what???,) because getting that cdr from Sheiluns/COnduit and spamming RSK feels soooooooooooo gooooood ommmmmggggggggggg.
