Your favorite sunday/monday 10 man rogue is back post raid.
Sunday we did everything but Hodir, General, Yogg. 9 mann’d with no shaman as he had a concert. True rip. Got a 97 on Ignis, parses are a rainbow, only managed Thor hardmode on Monday due to roster.
Tonight, learned Hodir 10 HM is indeed 2 minutes, which lmao rip 10 mans. Busted out a general HM, took an hour and a half but we got him down and got our morb one of his bis swords. Spent the rest of the time trying 1 light Yogg, but toes kept dipping into pools and it became a mess, ended up just doing 4 light to end the night.
In the end, got all but Algalon, mostly trash loot overall this week with a few gems. 100% enjoy this more than Naxx.

So we got to Yogg and called it after 3 hours raiding. 4 wipes total across all bosses, including two accidental boss pulls. No hard modes. 3 wipes really as I don’t count the flame leviathan wipe where we had a handful of guildies pull it while waiting for the rest of the raid to log in. ;p
Pretty happy with that given a lot of our group had never done Ulduar before.
It’s probably my favourite wow raid - love the whole theme of the old nordic gods and that. Some of my best wow memories come from that time of raiding. It felt good to relive it. Looking forward to a full clear and maybe some HMs next week with a full week of raiding.

If they have the liberty of dual tankspec, some tanks can spec into dedicated single target thread spec, which helps a lot.
Also communication with healers - does the tank need the extra HP from 2 stamina trinkets, or can he switch to Greatness+X ? (if available a hit trinket, since in ulduar most tanks are lacking hit atm).
Besides this, which is to improve the tanks TPS,
smart usage of anti aggro mechanics.
Warlocks need to consider when to use their shatter - less dmg at start, later shatter ? How close to the tank can you really get ?
How many pallys with salvation exist, and does it get called and used ?
How many tank assists are available, and are they used on cooldown ? (misdirection/Tricks).
Are mages using invis ?
Tanks should´ve no problems whatsoever with any aggro outside of ranged casters, and your raid should utilize the anti aggro mechanics those casters have, combined with salv.
Also a quick Hand of Protection if someone aggroes can safe the situation.
If you play hardmode, a multi hand of protection on the top pumpers can be a really good solution to add a burstwindow where they can nuke the saronite animus without caring about aggro. Especially towards lower HP reaches of the animus, just give the casters that are high in aggro all hands, and tell them to blast it off.

How fast can they burn the animus? I am pretty confident now in my healing, got my flash of light set up, with 31k mana the libram that buffs flash and will swap in the glyph that gives flash 5% more crit…but we still have to beat enrage.
Raided more than I worked, was a lot of fun!
10 man hardmodes are much much easier than 25 man which I was a bit surprised about. I knew they would be easier but they’re like insanely easier,
It seems 25 man hardmodes are serious gear checks at this point and if you don’t do everything perfectly you’re not getting them, which made it fun this week. I think in a few weeks with the ilvl inflation they will be too easy.
An example of this is Iron Council. Without perfectly setting up a rune before the last phase (and push the phase within a literal second of the rune spawning) change we wouldn’t be able to down the boss, whereas in probably 2 weeks we can completely ignore this and down the boss.
It was honestly a lot easier than I thought it’d be, and remembered it being.
I had gotten myself all worked up in prep for Raid Leading remember smashing my head against things back in the day, only for us to steam roll it until we hit Mimiron, which we downed in 2 pulls.
All in all, I love it a lot more than Naxx. But damn, am I realizing just how bad we all used to be at this game looking back now haha.
When you start on hard modes some of them are going to let you do a little head smashing.
Some of 'em yeah. But even then they’re not nearly as hard as they were back then - Not because of nerfs, but because it’s old content and we have tons of newer addons and stuff we just didn’t have then. We’re also on average a lot better at the game.
True, but we killed the heart on 10 man XT and then I was trying to heal 10 people through tantrum, with all of them losing 15% of their health every second. Oh, and a few sparks doing some more damage during that time. RIP single target healing.
This just reminded me of easily the most annoying thing that happened in our progression. Accidentally pulled bosses like 6 times. How?!
The hardest part of Thorim for us was not prepulling because those mobs right in his door are so buggy weird about their aggro range.
For those ones, at least, you can MC one and the fight won’t actually start until it dies. It even drops combat.
we would just run back down the stairs, but it was annoying. Will try the MC on an accidental pull and see what that does next time.
According to that one dude with 3 posts about it this week it’s the easiest raid ever.
Definitely don’t look into their 6 hour logs with 8 kills and 25 wipes with no hardmodes attempted.

Did a pug SR and got tier helm. No wipes until vezzax where we got walled
We got up to Vezax on 10 man and Mimiron on 25 man. Week 2 25 man starts in an hour!

Pretty happy with our start of week 2 on 10 man last night. We did 3 tower FL, hard modes iron council, thorim, and freya. Spent some time on XT-002, got the healing of trantrum down so nobody was dying but kept hitting enrage. DPS problem
Oh, and the warlock in our group got their bis wand from Freya HM, 245 ilvl and nice!
Just tried 25m Vezax hardmode and got the Animus out with half mana left on first try. People pulled threat off the bat and wiped us, almost one shot it.
Seems wayyyyy easier than I expected but guess we’ll see how the rest of the night progesses.
Oh cool, I have been worrying about that fight and tinkering with getting mana back via spiritual attunement, sounds like not needed.
