Still trying to figure out what you mean by that. Blood and Void Elves can look like high elves, walk like high elves, get butchered wholesale like high elves… If you go the Void elf route you can even wear a Silver Covenant tabard to pretend to be a Silver Covenant High Elf.
Because using TRP, I can say I am a Dragon Aspect if I wanted to so anyone else who had the add-on would mouse over and see “My made up race tag” “My made up class tag” so Dracthyr Devastation Evoker (the default UI tootlip) could read as literally anything I want it to for people using the same add-on and that includes mousing over myself.
blood elves are high elves.
void elves are blood elves who are void users, like blood elves were high elves who were fel users.
thus void elves are high elves
these things have one thing in common, they are all high elves.
whereas dracthyr are not aspects because aspects only share species not race. if void elves were nightborne asking to be called high elf, then you have a comparison since they share species (elf) but not race.
That’s a confusing way of saying you were agreeing with me because that’s pretty much what I was saying. The only difference between Void/High/Blood Elves is the in-game mouse-over tag and combat mechanics (which TRP can change the first of those to quite literally anything).
ah i see. okay. so my next point, if i am and can be a high elf, i’d really appreciate it if the stormwind cathedral priests wouldnt lecture my helf priest about her questionable proclivities and ask my helf priest to leave the building - they apparently didnt get the memo. that just smashes the whole pretend helf thing to itty bitty bits and dances in the remains lol
no the light and the void dont share spaces, thats why lor’themar exiled alleria from sunwell pilgrimage. light+void is boom and opens portal to allow void entities in… weird. oddly enough my void elf priest who looks like a high elf but is not allowed to say so, uses light based heal spells not void based. i’m so confused lol
Eh. I haven’t kept track of void elf stuff because from what I recall, it was Fel + Void = Explosion as what Xhul’horac taught me. Guess kids are just trying to mix everything with void nowadays.
well your guess is as good as mine. why do void entities need void to be mixed with light to open a portal and if thats how void elves open portals, why dont void entities issue forth from all their portals. not enough info.
Again — The Fel has no relevance to Blood Elves namesake.
Nor does it separate them biologically, physically or cosmically – as opposed to Void Elves, who’s physique has been altered on a cosmic scale, akin to how the Nightwell did such to Highborne Nightelves, transforming them into the Nightborne.
Blood Elves & High Elves can differentiate between the two names at will for all they like, afterall the namesake is political only. Void elves however, cannot – as their namesake is to the alteration that’s taken hold of their very being.
… You said you knew all of this in another thread, yet you keep repeating misconceptions to what severs the races & reasons to their namesakes.
well i see it as blood elfs being effected by something that mutated their skin cells but they are still blood elves, because the differences are visually unremarkable beyond the tentacle infection, such as a human taking so much collodial silver their skin turns blue, or someone has a parasitic infection on their scalp. to be remarkable enough to suggest different race, their skeleton would need to be changed, but they are otherwise identical to blood elfs
I just wanna addon to this, and no, not disagreeing with you here, doesn’t matter if a Void Elf, Blood Elf or a High Elf, they’re all the same race. The thing though that seperates the Void Elves from the Blood Elves/High Elves is the infusion of the void, as the void is now basically part of the Void Elves DNA.
Sorry Aussie, just wanted to add onto what you were saying here.
wow hasnt suggested elves are composed of dna designed flesh. only what changes are necessary to call it a new race
fel elves are blood elfs who have ingested so much fel they sprouted wings and turned ruddy red. id still call them blood elfs as their base race, regardless of the change to their skeleton because the change is an addon but it doesnt change their blood elf skeleton, same with demon hunters
so we list -
high elf
blood elf
blood elf with rudimentary wings
blood elf with massive wings
blood elf with a tentacle infection
I dont think we know enough to say if its something that has effected dna.
For confirmation of it, we would need to see a void elf baby.
And honestly, if we ever do get a void elf kid… light save them lmao
yet if it didnt say velf next to my name, i look so much like a belf with identical skeleton and facial features, youd be hard pressed to claim i wasnt a belf
Ah fair enough. Yeah theres no turning it off.
Maybe it could be possible to undo sorta like how illidan nearly get his fel replaced by light.
But thats lame so i wont humour that idea further haha
Void elves are high elves.
Just high elves with a particular affinity to the void.
Looking like your own species is pretty normal
