maybe what everyone needs are a list of the strategies employed when facing an obvious premade.
i’ve asked this question a few times and i believe i’ve gotten honest answers so ill go first. please feel free to add anything you feel works but i understand games are fluid and strategys can change with different communities.
ill start.
in WG on offense if you attack the front door (instead of inside corners then launch over) it takes longer for the defending team to get their vehicles to the fight.
in IOC if you lose hangar keep pushing hanger.
im not saying these are correct and it would be nice to hear from some of the premade bg leads their opinions.
“afk out” not an acceptable strategy.

I just lose all sense of morality and try to make sure at least a few of them have a bad time.

If I’m soloing against a Horde premade, I like to make a game out of it by identifying their leader and trying to get a kill off. Sure I’m probably going to lose the match, but I don’t care about that if I can take a few down with me.

We’ve talked about this before, I’ve attacked what appears to be their entire group to see how long I can live.

For sure, I have no problem going kamikaze to accomplish a goal.

I went after you today in BGB cause you wouldn’t wave back at me

Was it a Battle for Gilneas? That’s the only one I’ve done so far today.
Yeah, I kept blasting you with fire on my mage while you were sitting at the mines

just like a group of pugs. nobody wants to try and everyone just does what they want.

Very hard. A full 40-man premade can make many mistakes and still pwn a PUG team. It’s absolutely understandable why people would choose to quit or tab out once they realize they’re facing a premade team.
However, they do occasionally lose, especially when their mistakes are obvious enough for the PUG team to notice and PUG players can act swiftly.
Last month, I saw a well-known alliance full premade team was defeated by a PUG in Alterac Valley. The horde team recognized they were facing a premade alliance group, around 5 or 6 of horde spammed bg chat to urge others not to suicide under SHB and instead regroup at the IBT choke point.
Roughly 20 players followed suit, and 20 still died under SHB. When the alliance team came to south and saw about 30 horde under IBT, they made a big mistake to kill Galv. The horde team immediately realized it’s an opportunity, asked players with cc spells like icewall to keep the alliance within the Galv room so they cannot recall, while all others to assault the alliance base. Horde capped SPGY, DB bunkers, and 20+ stacked on Aid Station.
Surprisingly, the alliance premade didn’t recall entirely to wipe us out. Only about 10 recalled and were killed very quickly. This led to a series of panicked recalls and subsequent wipes for the alliance team. Eventually, with the DB bunkers down, we managed to kill their boss. Technically, they got more than enough time to wipe us when we were in the boss room if they mounted up and came back together, but they had already given up.
However, in most cases, a premade team would go ahead to nuke the PUG opponents regardless of the PUG team’s group size/location, leaving the PUG team with nearly no chance of success.

Things premades are capable of are possible because we are working together. Sometimes it’s just a case of who has more healers.
The best thing one can do when facing a premade is to step up and help out if no one is calling strat. Premade leaders will give a strat before the gate opens. If they are calling a strat, we appreciate when those of you who are not in discord with us would do what we ask via raid warnings. Sometimes a smaller premade can win vs a larger one if they all work together to execute the strat. I have had a few really great games this week that had that happen. People were overjoyed to have beat an “Auggy premade” (<3 you Auggy!).
The most vital part of any strat is the execution of it as fast as possible (back capping, pushing, holding a graveyard or chokepoint). Sometimes all players need is someone to take charge and say hey everyone go SR and fight on the flag. Or how valuable the solar sphere in Ashran is.
Asking questions in games also might help folks understand why leaders call what they do. Like why should you not shroud when glidering in to SR? Because it prevents the flag from capping.

Just call some proper strats for your group and get everyone on the same page.
One thing I think Blizz could do for Epics (or BG’s in general) is to provide an in game guide for each BG that players can use to see what the actual objectives and mechanics are. Seems to be so many people running around in bg’s (especially new players) with absolutely no idea what they could be doing objective wise.

Ah, I remember that fire mage.
Yes, we were holding the mines against Horde waves coming from their ship spawn.
Part of the pre-made problem stems from everyone into PVP being bored… The WPVP scene is deader than a doornail… All these new expansions are all Sanctuary Cities where you can’t raid. Places where you can’t do PVP on PVP servers is just wrong and makes no sense… There should be wild WPVP 50 v 50 ish battles going on in Shattrath and Valdrakken right now… It should be off the chain on PVP servers where no where is safe… Maybe pick two… Starting zones and we’ll keep Dalaran as the one, lone sanctuary city… It will be like Lando’s Cloud City where people can hang out and not kill each other. But everything else make fair game. Do something Blizzz… Seriously. Cause ‘woke pirates from outer space’ isn’t cutting it. The game is turning into Hello Kitty Islands of adventure.

Bring back the hunt for Scarab Lord!
#1 Do lots of aoe damage really fast. Don’t come in epics with single target arena builds. 1v1 Situational only (eg solo defenders)
#2 apply AoE CC/Slow/Roots
#3 Use all possible consumables for your spec. Engineer ez-thro gravitational pulls all enemies in one spot, apply CC in that area, Pump big CDs/Potions or Honor Consumables and AoE the hell of that area.
#4 Never travel alone unless you know what you’re doing, One person can disrupt a whole raid and distract them from their objectives.
#5 Dont be afraid to die, the time you spend running away couldve been used disrupting or doing more AoE damage.
#6 The enemy is afraid of your health bar and will always fall back when they see any health bars on their screen. Pushing means run right on TOP of the enemy, no matter what happens. If you die, you help the guy behind you get closer.
#7 ???
#8 Profit
Tips read PVE guides for AoE fights and how to maximize your AoE output.
Killing 1 guy is great, hurting 5 is better.

If the PUG team all persevere and play their best to the end without giving up, they can beat a pre-made - I have seen that happen so many times! What we need to beat pre-mades as a PUG is to all cooperate and work together as one.

I think you’re on to something. That said, if PvP design and balance were really fun for wPvP people would be doing it. But it is simply easier to just queue up for a random epic BG for large scale PvP fun.
