I am level 80 and looking to start questing with Cata quests. I have read I need to find Chromie. I have looked in Stormwind, Tanaris. I have also gone to the Command board and nothing is offered. I flew to the Cata zones and picked up all of the flight paths and no quests were offered. I have tried google but still not helping.
Someone please let me know what to do. If I need to put in a ticket please let me know. I am not doing that right now as I know they don’t help with questing usually and don’t want to waste their time.

you have to go to chromie in sw and talk to her there. i cant remember it all its been a while, but ull be able to switch thru all expacs up to dragonflight w/ her.

Your question is a mix between different editions of the game, so there are 2 possible answers depending on which one you’re playing.
If you’re playing Retail: then you’re in the wrong forum, and this is not the best place to ask.
If you’re playing Cata Classic: then there is no Chromie. And the Warboards offer breadcrumb quests to get you started in various zones.
Retail
Chromie should be in the NE part of Stormwind. Near the “embassy” if I remember correctly. (And that only if that’s still current. ) I can’t really help you further, and suggest you go to the correct forums.
Cata Classic
The warboards “Hero’s Call” (alliance) and “Warchief’s Command” (horde) are in busy areas of major cities. Near the bank / AH. (Though the Thunderbluff one is buggy and doesn’t respond to right clicks. and it fades out after a few seconds.)
They offer quests appropriate to your level. E.g. At level 34 you should see quests offered for Dustwallow Marsh, Western Plaguelands, Feralas, and possibly Cape of Strangelthorn. The quests offered depend on which continent you’re on when you view the warboard.
There is an important catch though. As mentioned earlier, the quests offered are “level appropriate”. So this creates a problem if you level 85 looking to do all the revamped quests. If that’s the case, I suggest you get a questing or completionist addon and look for quests you haven’t done. Just note that they might list some quests that have been deprecated. (Cata was a messy time with so much getting removed, and not all of it flagged as such.)
Sorry for being such a joke to you all. Right now I am frustrated beyond belief. I am playing Cata Classic!!! In fact, I double checked after reading these posts.
I have done everything suggested and the only quest I could get in reference to the hero board was a lich king one from the King in Stormwind. Yes I double checked I was playing Cata. I accepted that quest thinking it would allow me to chose something from the hero board and it does not.
Could someone give me the name of the beginning quest so I can google that or help me somehow. I just want to play
for future reference if anyone ever finds this thread and has the same problems
The Burning crusade can’t be entered until level 58 (beginning of hellfire)
Wrath of the lich king starts at level 68 (borean tundra/ howling fjord)
Cataclysm starts at level 80 (hero’s-call-vashjir/hero’s-call-mount-hyjal
