How to solve public crafting order problem

Once you hit 100 in the skill you literally cant see public orders

This would prevent people who don’t need them for leveling from seeing them and force buyers to make REAL orders with crafter via personal orders. The only thing happening with public orders now is people post I WANT A TIER 5 FOR 50G COMISSION NOW

In fact, just delete public orders and just rename them to funded leveling and anyone under 100 skill can see them

I have a better solution:

Remove that quest to do 2-3 crafting orders. Then people will stop complaining.

Assuring that peeps who use them get even lower quality gear.

Making them be used even less.

Good idea. 10/10.

Public orders are fixed in 1 easy way : add the minimum quality filter.

Easy knowledge, why remove it ?

Do people not send themselves personal orders from an alt ?

My problem with the crafting orders is the mats, and where you gotta go to get them…or…the mats, and the COST of them…good grief.
Otherwise, I’d be placing more orders, there is stuff I would like, but…umm…I ain’t touchin a raid, or bangin my head on a wall in myth+ to get the stuff.

While I would like to have some of the things…not all of the things are worth the hassle to me…

i want the complete opposite of what you want lol.

scrap personnal orders make it all public and allow us to set minimum quality requirement on public orders

recrafts should be public too! ain’t got time to socialize with a random crafter and make them rich while i provide the mats lol - and then thank them?! jeez.

The best part is this will do much to combat inflated commissions by introducing much needed competition for top billed work orders.

“I want 50k for Lariat”. “You’ll take 10 and be happy because someone else will”.

I do. And you do. And everybody with a brain does.

But an extraordinary number of people who post on this forum don’t understand anything.

They should add every craftable to the list. There’s not been an Engineering work order available for weeks now. Everyone wants the stupid neck or a weapon. They don’t want to waste their sparks on boots or bracers, and every hunter already has a better gun.

Only to complete that quest since there’s literally nothing else we can make.

That would be an extraordinary can of worms to open up.

are you awake or still dreaming right now because that will never happen

Blizzard limited quality on public orders for a reason. They wanted players to hunt down that perfectly specced blacksmith for your bracers or the world’s best enchanter. Anything that increases player interaction is a good thing for the game, when will you people learn that this game is supposed to be an MMO?

QTF because it’s the truth.

did it enhance the experience for anyone?

personally it just costs me more gold and then i gotta fake being thankful for paying extra while i provided all the mats and then i quickly forget about it and never talk to them again.

what an incredible social experience

It’s almost like you can add the knowledge/rep elsewhere or something to keep the weekly amounts the same. It would also “balance” the fact that if you are Enchanting or Alchemy or any of the gatherers you are always a quest or two behind everyone else every week since you don’t even get offered the crafting order quest.

Yes, but because we can’t get to max crafting and knowledge, we can’t make the things people want. Not that anyone with Engineering would be able to make anything anyone wanted in the first place.

“Oh, look! An Engineering work order! I wonder… Oh… It’s just profession equipment that I don’t have the recipe for.”

  • Three weeks later

“Nope. Nothing at all now…”

There are other reasons, too.

Suppose you could set minimum quality on public orders. Okay. Let’s follow through that line of thought.

Everybody would set max quality.

A crafter starts a work order and fails to craft max quality. He fails the roll. What’s he going to do? Probably abandon the order.

Or maybe he’ll just sit on the order, thinking after he gets some skill-ups he can do it. How unfortunate for the person hoping to have their item made.

Since you can only work on 1 craft order at a time, the crafter’s gonna have to do SOMETHING with it to kick it out of the slot in order to work on anything else. Frustrating for the crafter. Potentially frustrating for the customer, too.

Making all of this worse is the RNG that’s built into the system through the Inspiration stat. Minimum quality public orders might work for a static crafting system, but with Dragonflight crafting so heavy on RNG, it just isn’t feasible.

This is the way

How is that literally any different from when everyone on A52 sends their Lariat work orders to one person and selects “guarantee rank 5” on it?

Obviously I can’t say it is “everyone”, but one person has been in trade chat the past several weeks spamming at a lower cost and uses their own mats. Pay 50k and bring no mats or pay 40k and have to shell out 20k+ worth of mats? I wonder…

With quality filters on public orders it will. Because I’ll put in the rank 4 Lariat order, with 10k commission.

Their choice to fill or not. Someone will.

Why though ? It takes literally 30 seconds to send yourself the orders with 0 mats from an alt.

You can’t start an order if you can’t garantee the quality.

Because at least that way you know who the person is in advance and can have a line of communication.

“It didn’t proc 5, do you want me to try again?”

“Odds are better if I use an Insight, do you want to pay extra for that?”

“Can you send me an extra reagent to up the chance?”

etc.
