How to restore corruption effects?

Hello so i removed the corruption on my axe from maut off and now it seems you guys buffed it
Sk’shuul Vaz

 • This weapon’s Obsidian Destruction (Corruption Effect) now divides its damage among targets struck and deals additional damage for each target struck, up to maximum damage dealt at 6 targets.

 • Damage against a single target has been increased to 700% of armor (was 175% of armor). is there a way to restore my corruption effect because this doesn’t feel fair tbh took it off my axe because before it was useless now you guys buffed it soo its a 1k dps increase am i out of luck? or should i make a ticket

Customer Support would not be able to restore the item to its previous state.

The best I can offer is recommend posting any suggestions/feedback you may have through the Submit a Suggestion option found through the in-game help menu or by posting in the General Discussion forum.

+1 for wanting it restored.

I got super lucky and got two heroic drops on the first kill. Obviously due to the lackluster effect, I cleansed it. But now, I would actually use at least one of them.

In the same boat and received the same response from a GM. Basically, it was a kind way of saying “no.”

Likely, but one can hope.

Cleansed items cannot be reversed or re-corrupted. New corrupted items can be earned moving forward.

Blizzard is usually hands-off when it comes to allowing you to restore an item to a previous state. There can be consequences for your actions. At the moment, you would need to get another corrupted item.

I had the same respone. “submit a suggestion”. I will do that, but I doubt it will get anywhere. It’s quite frustrating. you clense a garbage item and the next day they buff it by almost 4X. I wish they could figure this stuff out before it goes live.

Perhaps if enough people submit, the dev team will revert all the previously looted ones. Wishful thinking, yes. But imo this should have been mandatory along with their decision to buff it. Many companies do this when they make a mistake.

The GMs are not the devs, all you will do is flood the ticket queues and kick response times to 7+ days.

If you really wanna be heard, post on General Discussion or use the in game suggestion tool.

Except it wasn’t a mistake. Blizzard changed the numbers. Why should they revert them all. Some players did it, meant to do it and wouldn’t want it reverted.

Honestly, it’s unlikely they will revert the items. The game changes. The same way anyone who paid for flying in TBC, and Wrath, and Cata, and Pandaria didn’t get reimbursed when they rolled all the old flying into one. Nor did players get reimbursed when the price for most riding and flying was lowered.

I mean you do you. But Blizzard didn’t force you to cleanse anything.

This is why all corrupted flgearnibreceive will blgo in the bank or void storage. Just in case a round of buffs or nerfs changes things.

Not to mention those of us who have paid for each expansion as brand new, only to see them all rolled into the base game.

Changes happen. Posting a suggestion either on the correct forum, or the in-game tool, will let Blizzard consider changing the policy.

really dumb that you cant get it back

Well, it takes an active decision to remove the corruption. Like with all things, there are consequences to some decisions.

Why is it dumb yoh can’t grt it back? You have to actively go to Mother and ask her to take it off.

There is nothing saying you HAVE to cleanse it. There is nothing preventing you from leaving it in your bags (I have a really good one in my bag now awaiting some more corruption resist). There is nothing stopping you from you putting it in the bank. Or void storage.

All of these choices, and yet itnis dumb you cannot undo it? I don’t grt it.

I understand people who feel that way in regards to effects that was considered bad, that will now get buffed. Saying people should have had the foresight to store corrupted gear in their banks, because it could be changed so this thing that’s weak now will get a change that makes it good next week. So yeah, you have to actively go to Mother to cleanse, but some people did that based on how the powers of the corruptions was. Some of these powers make as huge a difference to someone’s dps as talent points once did, when those got major changes mid patches (back when they costed gold to change) they got reset to allow people to change their talents according to new tuning. Considering how the corruption effects aren’t targetable, it is pure RNG what effect is gotten, it’s not unreasonable for people to consider it dumb that you cannot revert the cleanse.

You would need to provide feedback in General Discussion. The Devs don’t take feedback from the Customer Support forum and the SFAs here are not liaisons with them.

I’m aware of that  Wasn’t really meant as feedback to devs, more a reply to this:
All of these choices, and yet itnis dumb you cannot undo it? I don’t grt it
Me personally are not affected, but I just thought it could be possible to be more understanding of those that were/are.

Same as when people vendor/disenchant/scrap gear. You don’t get it back.

Not even close to the same thing. One of the main differences is when you vendor/DE/scrap/cleanse gear, you get something tangible back. Gold, mats, another piece of gear. It’s one thing to allow you to repick your talents, and it’s another to follow the trail of where the received items went and back them out.

Not to mention the fury it would cause if a player, as an example, vendored the item and then paid for a flying upgrade, which is now removed because they are restoring the vendored item.
