How to properly report players for griefing?

I don’t see any option when opening a ticket. I have been trying to get away to turn WM off and they are not allowing it.

Thank you!

There is no in-game report option for griefing.

Depending on how they are doing so, use the other options instead.

There isn’t anyway to report someone camping your body in warmode. Best thing you can do is log onto another character and wait til they get bored and move on.

Or, callout in game chat for assistance

You can rez at the Spirit Healer, and Hearth out to turn WM off.

Griefing is an offense though isn’t it? I’m just trying to figure out how you report it if that is the case.

Corpse camping is not considered griefing. I apologize for missing that initially.

Exactly this. If you are in War Mode then they can kill you as much as they want. It is considered consensual combat because you selected that mode.

Please read the article Ekon linked closely. Most anything in PvP mode is not considered harassment or griefing.

Well, that’s unfortunate that griefing is allowed.

It isn’t griefing though. It is mutually agreed upon PvP which you chose with warmode. People tend to not understand that griefing isn’t ‘I don’t like what they are doing’ and mislabel it that way. You can opt out of warmode simply by going back to your hearth and turning it off. You do that, and they can no longer corpse camp you.

“Griefing” is a common term in the playerbase’s vernacular, but it really means nothing. It’s been used to describe getting scammed by another player (which is reportable, under the word “scam”), or simply not doing something you don’t like.

This is one of those second cases. You have Warmode on, they are allowed to kill you. The more specific term for this is corpse camping, and it is not against any rules.

Not really. Blizzard defines it “Doing something I don’t like” Corpse camping is not griefing especially if you are in Warmode.

You get extra xp in warmode specifically to offset the time you lose by being killed.

The policy is the same in Classic and Retail. PvP problem has a PvP solution. Now retail also has the option to enable or disable war mode. You don’t have to transfer off a PvP realm in retail to get away from it.
