How to obtain an item you want?

this is just in theory as i wouldn’t do it
but let’s say i want DST

-buy 200$ worth of gold and join a gdkp from those who’s selling it min bid 10k gold & with 30k i’ll make sure to gets it if it dropped (the result i get what i wanted & the community is happy to get the gold, it doesn’t matter where it was from, and btw the most gold in game came from gold buyers who bought gold which was farmed by bots over past 2years ‘raw gold by vendoring’ then they did spread it inside gdkp’s to a major part of the community & that’s the reason behind current insane inflation )

-join a guild if that guild is new then everyone will need on dst and if it’s a guild that do current tier content then they wouldn’t bother going for grull, and if they will go? probably some old main will want dst on his 5th alt.

-make my own group and hard reserve it just like every selfish person who does HR? but most likely only poor geared people would join

-make my own group without any res for free roll fast badge then if it drops i ninja it? Megaserver is nice as no one even care about ninja cases.

–make my own group and make it SR… it will look like this lol 21/25 rolled on DST

so which option should i pick?

i’m pretty sure people will tell me (buy gold) I mean Farm gold and go get it in gdkp’s! that’s what everyone is doing, that’s the fastest and most efficient method to get gear.

-play in a guild and talk on mic

-dont join an expac in the last of 5 phases and expect full bis/the most contested item in the game

-discuss with guild the items you want and maybe work out a plan with other competitors

-dont spend real money on gold for pve loot so u can parse 5 higher to impress strangers in ur next gdkp pub

brain science

“Third alternative”
-host gdkps, do all the leg work, spam trade and lfg all week with ur disc link, signup sheet on a disc u made, raid comp app to fine tune the comp, screen good buyers and carries, tanks with resist gear who have logs, RSVP every single person in dm’s on disc, possibly for multiple runs, until u can yoink the item u want and server transfer with all the peoples’ gold and sit ur possible 3 day ban

All of this is far too difficult for the RIGHT NOW generation of retail WoW players that come to Classic for a visit and immediately want gear.

^ i just dont understand why they want to spend money for pve items. if they dont even play with a guild

like who are they tryin to impress? ur never gonna parse 99 in a gdkp are u? cuz of all the buyers dragging raid down (idk i have never done like “serious gdkps” just a couple hyjal ones at max)

i could maybe see like a main tank buying gold for a badge of tenacity or somethin. but i will never understand the dragonslayer lone wolf guys who splash cash every phase

Maybe it’s time to accept the reality that you won’t get everything you want. This isn’t burger king. There will never be enough DSTs to go around. You don’t need the best item for every slot either. You just need to be able to kill all the bosses. Use the best items you can get and keep it moving.

“anyone can buy gold to get everything he/she wants without putting effort at all.”
-This might be true for old outdated content but good luck trying to do it on sunwell.

“There’s more than enough DST’s to go around >.> it’s not some super limited quantity thing”
-It’s a rare drop. For every raid that goes in there, there’s maybe 5 people that want it. This means not everyone is going to get one, which means there are NOT enough to go around. Even if the thing is reserved for you, it’s not guaranteed to ever drop in your raids.

Gotta be able to flex and look cool bro, even if you are clueless/bad and have no idea what gear is actually good for you/how to properly min/max your character.

I’m on Discord right now listening to buddies in heroic MGT and the bear tank and spriest they invited are GDKP kids that went in and bought everything they can (all boe raid epics, meta gems not active, etc) and just plain bad players. They actually just removed them both from the group and replaced them as I was typing this message lol.

THANK GOD THEY AREN’T IN A DUNGEON FINDER GROUP AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO REPLACE PEOPLE FREELY.

that’s pretty good ideas but i some how feels bad about number2, because new players will be always behind just for the mistake that they started late?

don’t you think the system is supposed to attract new players any time and keep them in game on equal chances with everyone to makes them fit into the community?

getting the loot even if you won’t use it is somehow satisfying, And Hey!!! i’m trying to impress my master!

that’s cool words but my main point in topic isn’t about that i need dst or not  i’m guildless and i don’t care to gear or raid, just playing for fun & sometimes sniping random sr pugs to enjoy the raid, But the point of my thread is about that anyone can buy gold to get everything he/she wants without putting effort at all.

You shouldn’t feel bad about that, it’s a normal bodily function.

The way to do DST pugs is to HR it but roll off 5K, 1k to the top 5 rollers. People will come just for that. This is assuming you do not have a guild. My guild does a quick gruul after current raid content if anyone in the raid needs a DST. No one in my raid team needs a DST anymore though so we stopped but we are always willing to do a gruul’s for people who do.

Shocker.

No one cares about you, especially not when you come in this late into tbc. Be in a guild from start to end of an expansion and you will get all loot you want. Stop being delusional, it’s that easy.

Good thing wrath is dropping tomorrow so you wont need DST anymore

The 5 or 6 that dropped just went to the hunters, and Shaman in my raid?

But now i will need to buy gold so i can afford DMF card trinket :sleepy:

Either this or make my own group MS>OS.

I don’t do GDKPs and I don’t do Reserves.

Our guild has had no issue running weekly gruuls outside of normal raid times.

As much as I agree with this statement. It’s too unrealistic for TBC Classic. People demand that you have the best item for every slot and nothing less. TBC Classic nothing but a Flow Chart Simulator. People don’t want to spend an extra 5 seconds on a fight so they Min/Max

No its not. I was unguilded for about 4 weeks after taking a break at the start of P3 and was constantly scouted by raid guilds despite being in mostly t4 bis. I had like 3 P2 items but all my gems and enchants were appropriate and it did not stop them from trying to recruit me.

Try playing Rogue or Fury Warrior and see if you get recruited with T4 gear.
