How to make taelia interesting?

There is also a Lady Mara Fordragon, whose statue is located in the Paladin order hall under Light’s Hope Chapel. Instead of Calia, Talia’s mother could be Mara.

i don’t think so, apparently mara fordragon died in the first war.

The fact that her statue is in the Paladin order hall, and has a sword and shield indicates that she was a paladin. Which means she lived long enough to train as a paladin. Which wasn’t developed by the people of the Eastern Kingdoms until the 2nd War. Since the statue declares she was the patron of the Stormwind refugees, a group that didn’t exist until after Stormwind lost in the 1st War, that further shows she lived until at least the 2nd War and possibly beyond. So yeah, she could be Bolvar’s wife. Or his mother, or aunt, older sister, etc. We have no idea how old he is either.

Relatability isn’t the only metric for an effective or enjoyable character, though. Audiences also sometimes like a standard they can aspire to. I’m of the opinion that a fictional world works best when you have both types of heroes.

Which is why i love Anduin.

He’s not perfect, but he’s genuinely good and wants the best for everyone.

He just needs other characters to play off.

Oh i get it. It’s why kids love superman so much. I understand the need for both. And I personally don’t hate Anduin myself, as his views on how stupid these wars are have been my views for a while.

Well played

Something interesting from the recent lore livestream: they talked about developing Flynn as a “counterpart” to Taelia. So it sounds like they started with her and then gave her a wacky friend, rather than starting with the wacky character and giving him a sensible friend.

Well, first make her an elf.
Make her intensely edgy.
Show off her midriff for a good 12 years or so.

By then, she’ll have built up a wild fanbase that will follow her no matter what she does.
Does that make her interesting? I don’t know. But it at least makes her popular.

Honestly, you don’t even need the “edgy elf” part. From that list, Jaina just shows off her midriff since WC3 (up to now, but then, Sylvanas is wearing full armor these days too), and look at how popular she is.
