How to make taelia interesting?

Greetings, first of all, no i don’t hate her at all,i think that she is cool, pretty okay character, i am pretty neutral on the fact that she is fordragon.

today i was thinking in “will she marry anduin?” until i realized.
hold on, why suddenly this is more important than actually develop taelia?
i mean, almost everyone already assumed that she is going to be the queen of stormwind.
But what direction can take her character that could make her stand on her own and be an actual character and not just “anduin love interest” or “just the queen of stormwind”

Will she stay as a proudmoore guard forever or the personal guard of the lord admiral? and can be that compelling enough to make her interesting as a character?

she needs to become a warrior super sayayin and eventually become into one of the greatest heros of the alliance like her father? will she take a villain route? what kind of new motivations she needs to find?

because Bfa seems to be the best chance she could get to get a little more of develop,at least as her introduction as a character.
but as content patches often don’t bring too much of story, and with others major characters taking all the spotlight it doesn’t seem like she can get a lot of screentime.

What route can take her character to make her more interesting
before even thinking on being the queen of stormwind?
Assuming that she will eventually become a major character in the distant future, of course.

How about giving her a personality, that seems like the best starting point.

Increase bust size, height, give her a tanning bed and a gym membership. Best way to make em more interesting.

Taelia’s fine. She has a personality–I don’t know why Zega is implying she doesn’t. And I’m pretty sure they have storyline in mind for her with Bolvar further down the road, which will develop her further.

(EDIT: Oops, meant to post on my Alliance character, but well–I do have an Alliance character, so I’ve quested with Taelia.)

She definitely has a personality, and her voice actress is great—we finally get a woman in WoW that doesn’t sound like she’s trying to emulate a man when speaking. With Jaina and Sylvanas, that makes three. Yay.

I’m also certain she’ll have something to do with the Lich King in the future, which will obviously make things very interesting with her.

When I say personality I mean I would like her to be more than just Bolvar and Calia’s daughter.

Something that makes her memorable like Flynn who isn’t perfect and is going through his own hardships etc etc but tries to keep things light despite the situation.

So far she just feels bland, as in “Hey it’s the right thing to do so let’s go!”

Her personality is a little bit too much of a generic “good person.” Same with many Alliance figures. She’s just a female Anduin in terms of personality. I feel like a poorer character who lost her mother, had a father in a distant land eventually “die” and was fostered by a soldier should have a bit more of an edge to her.

I mean is there anything wrong with having plain old good people? In the recent years of everyone having a secret agenda or constantly being morally challenged or having some form of god complex or being a mostly unlikable jerk in media, you’d think it’d be a welcome change.

I don’t really remember much about Taelia from questing. She didn’t have much to set her apart from all the other Alliance NPCs. I’m a lot more attached to Lucille and Flynn.

I’m still waiting for Flynn to mend fences with that pirate captain. I’m 90% certain they used to date.

It’s a bit boring for a story. Stories work better with conflict, including internal conflict and character flaws. And there are plenty of plain old good people in the current story, that’s part of the boring part. Anduin, Velen, Baine, and even Varian after he went through that druid/worgen ritual that tempered his rage (a.k.a. his prominent character flaw).

There’s more types of conflict than a man having to deal with the outcomes of his every move.

Like I get it, the gray morality and imperfect hero thing is cool. The problem is that it’s overdone not only in WoW but in all media. I personally preferred the days where you knew who the good guys and the bad guys were and the questionable outliers were few and far between. It made it special when you had a hero fall or a bad guy redeem themselves when it wasn’t so common.

I’m not looking for an anti-hero. I’d just like the characters to feel human. Humans have flaws. I don’t see any flaws with Taelia. I don’t see a whole lot with her really. She’s just a vehicle for the plot that follows us around and says “Let’s go check this thing out over here now.”

Just do this.

Bolvar: Tirion never told you what happened to your father…

Taelia: He told me enough! He told me u killed him!

Bolvar: No I am your father.

This.

The problem isn’t that she’s good.

The problem is that she’s bland.

Is she not? I mean, I personally like her.

Pretty much where I am. I get why a lot of Alliance players like her. A lot of them also loved Milque-toast Jaina, and that’s what the two characters have most in common.

When they don’t have any real history and we aren’t in their heads to hear the internal exposition? Yes. Yes there is quite a bit wrong with that.

Agreed.

Anduin gets a lot of hate for being “too good” and gets labeled as a bad character for it.

Difference between him and the generic good action girl is we saw him grow up, we saw his difficulties with his father, we saw the events that led him to become a priest, saw him learn from the Pandaren and August Celestials, saw him react to his father dying and coming to grips with that.

His character has some weight, even if he is too good for this world.

Lucille Waycrest is another example of an Alliance good girl introduced in BfA, but we have a real sense of who she is, where she came from, we saw her strength of character in how she dealt with the situation in Drustvar and her parents.

Screw Taelia, Anduin should marry Lucy!

Doesn’t help that Taelia is the never before seen or mentioned daughter of a major Alliance character.

Taelia could be the first openly Trans person on Azeroth!

You mean when we haven’t gotten an opportunity to actually delve into their character like in the same month or year as their introduction?

I want Taelia to have meaningful development. I don’t want her to have rushed development. Considering that her whole business of being Bolvar’s daughter is intended as a surprise in the story, I think what we have so far is a perfectly serviceable, with more than plenty of room for expansion later on given the inevitability of Anduin asking the Lich King for his blessing to date his daughter.
