Ever since last night I’ve been running through ideas in my head. So far I’ve come up with taking screenshots of casting RoP under an outhouse in the Grizzly Hills or on top of one of those ogre dung piles in Diremaul or other ogre dens. Maybe where you come out of the giant worm boss’ butt in Neltharion’s Lair? If anyone has suggestions sound off below.
Lets all invite Snozy to a twitch stream and do all mage legacy raid using incanters flow. Seems fitting.
Now if they would just make IF a flat damage increase. Tracking that is no picnic.
For proper send-off, Blizzard could rename Rune of Power to Rune of Turret and leave it in the same place as IRL turrets - in the past.
No world in which I’m tracking that on top of SKB stacks, FB/PF charges, FtB, Pyroclasm stacks, 2P debuff, 4P stacks, and doing mechanics, dps gains be damned.
Here’s hoping we also get a viable non-hardcast-Pyro build so I can fully enjoy not standing around and stop playing stack-babysit simulator
They should… turn RoP into a mage exclusive toy, so at least the RoPologists can have something to cling to lol.
That’d actually be pretty genius ngl.
I must have really caught you in your feelings
My thought was taking bets on what the bad players will choose to make a scapegoat next.
SKB or arcane surge or IV
I did not know I needed this but now I must have it!
Is he some famous dude? never hear about him. (im not from USA)
LOL! No, he’s just known to us on the forums as a strong proponent of RoP.
Always someone to defend the indefensible
It’s easily defensible.
Stop being using it poorly.
There it’s defended.
You don’t need to track IF. You just do your normal rotation, its near impossible to line up anything with IF so just do your best at maintaining consistent rotation and hope for the best.
If you tried to hold on to things for the peak of IF you would lose more dmg than gain.
“ROPologist”. Good one.
I suggest a band of mage using Runes to write
“Rest in Pieces”
Readable from the sky, and taking a screenshot of the result to remember how we will not miss this horrible spell.
I have mixed feelings as well about ROP, it could put mage as a middle of the pack class if its kills the burst ceiling, overall i am excited for change.
The arcane orb barrage talent is WILD on the PTR. I hope it makes it into live in some form without watering down arcane barrage in general across the board.
I am not worried about Mage DPS without RoP, tbh. I know everyone has been doomsaying about what a post-RoP world would look like for years but frankly all of that can be ironed out with simple damage tuning. It will just take some time to figure just by how much baseline damage will need to be buffed to compensate because they need real world data for that. They will probably initially miss the mark and be too conservative because, frankly, it will take a massive boost. It’s just an adjustment we will have to live with. Personally, I am fine with that and this tier is actually a good time to do it since the raid is pretty easy compared to previous ones.
They better not mess with the new Orb Barrage. Turning that crappy talent into the Mantle of the First Kirin Tor has been my number one ask since they first released the new Mage trees. Legion was the only time Arcane AoE was in a good place and that legendary was a big part of it. On top of that it feels so smooth and it’s just a blast to play with it. Now they just need to replace RS with Mark of Aluneth and change Harmony to buff it instead of ABarr and we will have the golden Legion days back!
That would be a lovely change! Cosmetically at least, RS feels a bit out of place for mages… Like, they added the Covenant spells for many classes as it is, and truthfully, it only feels right when the class is already into that fantasy. E.G. Druids with Convoke or DKs with that Limb thing…
Stuff like Radiant Spark, Shifting Power, monk’s Faeline… they just don’t feel right.
