I was wondering if anyone had any tips to grow a WoW stream. What do people like to watch the most? I feel I have a good setup, personality, and good content already but I would like to attract a wider audience
I am not self promoting in anyway as this toon is an alt I do not use and its name had nothing to do with my channel
Currently I am streaming 4 days a week. I am doing mythic+ tanking for viewers over on US-Illidan. I recently swapped to a green screen and began using scenes to show off my creativity and also put me in game with the characters
Update
I received alot of feedback o n this and I thank you all very much
I figured I would leave a hyperlink to one of my favorite clips. I appreciate any and all feedback if you wish to give it. Thank you all so much
1: Be entertaining - Don’t mindlessly stare at your screen silently for hours on end.
2: Know your audience: If your audience actually plays the game, you want to be closer to Asmongold than say, a shill like Taliesen.
3: Do something to get you on the map: Do something unique and interesting enough to get a big surge of players, then try to maintain that huge viewer count with the above two points.
Going from what comedians do, you just start doing it. Most popular comedians today or streamers always start off as nobodies and gradually overtime, you build up your fan base.
Patience and dedication are key.
Also understand that people will hate you, you are exposing yourself to the world and people like this:
will go after you relentlessly because they seem to get off on obsessing over your every flaw.
Be ready to handle their harassment, and don’t make a fool out of yourself later by whining about it by quoting lines from Spiderman 2.
Influencers are different from game streamers. Influencers live on photo apps and take pictures of themselves. They stream themselves sitting on the floor of their kitchen eating food and whining about how hard it is living in Beverly Hills.
Streamers just play video games and occasionally cause servers to crash.
There are restrictions to this. You have to have a webcam. If you’re a female streamer without a webcam, you may as well be a nobody. If men can’t see chest, is chest really there?
Streaming doesn’t have to be someone’s livelihood, it can be a fun hobby, too. No streamer should ever start out thinking and aiming to do it for a living because it becomes more and more depressing since growth is very stagnant and slow. Speaking from learned experience.
As for the OP, it’s difficult to grow in games that are already large. Unless you do something substantial (Like Mythic raid or PvP at the highest level) you aren’t going to stand out much because there are already hundreds of streams for WoW. Especially if you’re streaming now while the Mythic race is going, you’re not going to be very visible.
Also, remember that even if you only have a regular or two, never overlook them. I’ve been streaming for two years now (anniversary this month, Whoo) And while I’m not big in any way, I have my Core following and family that I’ve picked up who have stayed by my side no matter what. Always appreciate them first and foremost, even if it’s just your friends that feel like they are obligated to.
