How to grow a WoW stream?

What if…I teach my cat to play?

I was going to say the same

What would you expect putting your life on public display hoping to get rich or evicted trying?

Its like poker in the early 2000s. They heyday is gone. If you didnt make it on twitch several years ago playing WoW chances are, you wont.

Look for a new game and go from there.

WoW is a tired market thats not doing a very good attracting new players or maintaining the existing.

Eventually this well will run dry.

The pathetic WoW streamers are fighting over the dwindling viewers at this point. The writing has been on the wall for some time. If they are smart they would be planning an exit strategy or work on a transition plan.

Be a thot and rake in the money.

Because it’s the exception, not the rule.

Just because you can stream, doesn’t mean you will be able to support yourself in any significant way.

Adam Carolla didn’t have to worry about selling seats when he did standup, everyone knows he’s the guy from the man show. So when he hit the road after the man show was cancelled, people didn’t suddenly forget that the man show existed, he maintained his momentum and he used his name to make one of the most popular podcasts on iTunes.

You seem to be coming from this corporate 1990s view set where you need some large organization with a lot of assets to keep you afloat. But in reality, this thing called the internet was invented, and you don’t need some big wig executive to hold your hand for you anymore.

All good content creators are now freelancers, the garbage on network television is going down the toilet. Internet killed the videostar.

Drudging away at a job you hate for 8 hours every single day for a company that doesn’t care about you at all is the lowest form of self respect imaginable. I envy the people who can make money doing what they love, even if I find their personalities annoying.

Yeah cause toxic WoW streamers are going transfer into podcasts about video games on itunes and continue to flourish… are you serious?

Lol okay.

Why are you comparing a comedian to a person that plays a video game on twitch?

Their wow streamer’s primary source of income is from kids, either a) their parents credit card or b) their parents Amazon prime account…

Those traditional corporations btw…

Adam Carolla was famous before the Man Show. lol

He was a local celebrity on K-Rock in SoCal. But I guess you could call that famous.

I never said that but okay.

Joe Rogan is a comedian and commentator for people who fight in cages. His podcast primarily deals with philosophy, conspiracy theories, bro science, and occasionally farts:

I compare all content creators as the same kind of trade. I could care less about a person’s occupation, all that matters is whether or not they make content about stuff I care about, which usually entertains me.

They’re all content creators at the end of the day.

Toxic behavior seems to grab crowds. I wouldnt recommend it as a long term strategy though. It won’t end well.

All memes aside, I think carrying keys and just doing raffles is probably the best way. Also reading your chat and being engaging would help.

But raffles pull a lot of viewers, if you’re entertaining then people will stay.

People don’t watch for the content, they watch for the streamer. Most of the time at least.

I am starting to do this tomorrow I think actually

I have some very entertaining content alot of people seem to respond too but I am looking to get my content into more eyes

I use a green screen to put myself ingame

I may do a transmog competition Saturday where I get people to come onto it and stand next to me while I judge them

Ummm try to find something Unique to YOU! Something no one else is doing!

Try not to be an angry mean streamer (personally i never watch those types)

Lately that i have noticed…most of them just repeat what the others have said just in different wording anyhow. So i have been generally just watching one streamer a week (i check youtube for new vids like once a week)!

Having an accent also helps lol ! This may not be something you have but as a woman i enjoy listening to male streamers with accents.

Good luck in your future endeavors BTW!

I mean technically where you live everyone else could have an accent lol

I do think I have something very unique. I just have to get people to see it but I am not sure how. I do not just sit there and talk I try to put on a show

I wish I could show you a few clips

Also I appreciate the kind words

You have to do goofy stuff and have a good personality or be the best of the best from the looks of things, people have seen wow played just about every way possible at this point so you have to be creative.

Leveling through elwynn while kiting a murlok as your leveling buddy the entire time. Maybe leveling challenge where you can only use items and gear that you can obtain through fishing? I dunno weird stuff like that always gets some curiosity clicks.

Water it, feed it, talk to it, and tell it nice things. Then it will become too big for you to control and will attempt to take over the world.
