How to get 12 million subs back. Step by step guide

This WoW will never get 12m subs back.

Need a brand new game (not expansion) for that

I already read it. I just fully disagree with people who want to put forward the “horror stories” of loot in the past.

Pretty much what you said. Focus on classes reset to MoP design and build on it. 2 raid difficulties, pvp vendors, no titanforging above greater raid difficulty ilvl.
Also no allied race rep requirements, and let flying for old expacs be purchased by players. Nothing turns off returning/new players more than giant grinds on characters they don’t wanna play.

Why not? They do it in those FPS games. Every few short months, they pick up a new gun because it’s 100% FotM and it was just buffed to the point of being broken; Or a new gun was just introduced, and it’s broken to the point of being absurd. What’s stopping them from doing the exact same thing for a character? They already grind Battle Passes, what’s to stop them from grinding gear? Or professions? Nothing at all. Nothing.

i prefer my fellow players to be adults so i guess we’ll have quality over quantity , who needs a misogynistic 12 year old making "ur mom " jokes.

Well… it seems 1, 6, 7, 3d and i guess technically 8 have been indeed added into the game. - IDK if it’s gonna bring ppl back tho.

12 million? doubt it.

i think a lot of that would bring some back though.
i would also add
9. make crafting way more important
10. get rid of sharding, let some servers be high pop, some low pop (some of us really do enjoy lower pop servers sometimes)
11. add a couple of full PVP always on servers, some of us like a little danger
12. have a couple classic, WOTLK, and MOP servers.
13. mythic+ a way to get gear waaaay faster, not better gear
14. allow us to make hybrid builds again
15. reduce the daily quests, keep them as optional in case you want to do them, but the need to do these chores should have never been a thing
16. start working on an expansion right now along with whats already going on…hire more people, start making an expansion right now with an open public test, do a monthly poll for feedback. turn this expansion into something that is double the size of anything ever done.
17. speaking of polls, instead of a chain of recommendations coming from the convoluted forum…send a weekly/monthly poll to everyone that has had an active sub in the last year.

Step 1. Hand Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas information on how to apply for unemployement.
Step 2. Bring in devs that actually know what they are doing.
Step 3. Pay the devs.

the op has ideas that would work to bring back some players and I have ideas that would work to bring back players.

I agree with half of this. Keep the 20 but add the 10 man. 10 man was perfect for small guilds. I wouldn’t even mind if they made it a little harder than 20 man.

Powerful necrotic magics at work here… Arthas is that you?

I do agree with the OP though.

Want to bring even half that back, they need to stop having classes so easy to the point any ole Joe can pick it up and succeed with it.

In turn for PVPers, that is what breaks it to aside from it being a drugged out mess due to healing and corruption abilities. Most every player I run into dont need skill, just gear. Theirs no one in PVP I could ever think “hmm this guy is someone I need to watch in the future because he good”, nope, that thought is absent now because everyone is the same.

PVE side is not much different, but its about the same as above. Things are just too easy, when WOW had 12 mill subs it was players that transitioned from other MMOs to WOW or were original Warcraft players and Diablo players that wanted a challenge, that challenge is just no more now.

man its crazy how blizzard actually did half of these things. Cant believe I wrote these thigs 2 years ago.

Add Dance Studio. Get Subs.

Just lose the subscription business - make WoW free to play for an entire expansion. Cover the cost by cutting Activision Blizzard executive salaries. Lower the price of the full game to $20.

Personally i like some things but in the end it is rather subjective and makes no difference.

This is a pointless argument.

WoW isn’t going to have 12 million players again. WoW and MMOs are no longer the hot thing on the market.

Generations have moved on and a new one has come in. And this new one isn’t interested in MMOs.

dang ol’ necro Phillips…

If it’s over - why are you still here?

And none of your statement holds validity. Yes, to some extent these kids flock to the coolest games but not as many as you say.
