How to fix the power parity

At this point, I feel like ‘Why should my character bother anymore?’

With how they’ve powered up Jaina and others on the Alliance, my character can just take a vacation when the next threat shows up. I’ll just sit at the beach, drink in hand, and tell them to deal with it this time.

Who needs a bunch of horde/alliance champions when Jaina can just solo it? It feels like Blizzard wants to tell their stories while I’m nothing but a camera for them. That’s not fun for me.

So, if it was my choice, I would lower power levels instead of powering up others.

NPC power levels wouldn’t be a problem if the story telling were closer to Vanilla through Wrath where they took a hard back seat to everything we do, and exist solely for game mechanics and handing out the occasional quest as opposed to driving the entire plot.

Yep. They could just send Jaina to kill the Jailer and Sylvanas.

100%.
Alliance characters need to be powered down.

Hmmm, I do have to agree… Specially after seeing how Jaina can solo an entire Raid of veteran Champions… not to mention what she did in Lordaeron… and wow yeah the power gap in BfA with the faction Leaders alone, really went out of the window… hmmm yeah dang, specially with Jaina!

The only ones we have who can come close maybe Talanji and Thalyssra is kinda in a weird place as the story never truly sets her in a position were she has to face off against someone directly… preferring guile, planning and defensive strategies than pure offensive ones. (IMO)

Sylvanas seem to be our only true power house and we lost her… the other ones could have easily balance or suppass it Lorewise was Keal’Thas but his stuck dead in SL…and Kel’thuzad but at this point is anyone guess what’s going to happen in SL. :man_shrugging:

Dang… I really can’t think of anyone who could at this point in the story. :confounded:

Powering down Alliance characters is fine. However, that doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Power down Alliance characters, and Blizzard will inevitably have to power up the Alliance military in order to maintain the relative power balance between the factions. And possibly write the Alliance military as somewhat competent.

Frankly, that is a trade, I would be happy to make.

Make Lor’themar the grand-daddy of all Spellbreakers, like a super Spellbreaker. Instant counter to all the Alliance’s OP characters.

Rommath hasn’t really done anything. Ever. Let him do stuff, and show us what the Grand Magister of Quel’Thalas, a man with full and unrestricted access to the power of the Sunwell, can do.

Talanji is pretty powerful, but if she has a powerful connection to Bwonsamdi like in the recent novel, then what happens in the Shadowlands should give her a significant power boost too.

Vol’jin should become a Loa and empower the Darkspears. Rokhan can get a power boost from that.

I think a bit of both would actually work if written really well into the game story… (IMO)

However we have to see, as more of SL plot is revealed…

So nerf alliance, buff horde?

It is amusing that despite the ludicrous power difference between Alliance and Horde hero, whenever their armies actually clash it’s usually the Alliance getting it’s sh pushed in until said hero shows up and cleans house.

So if a power decrease leads to an actual military increase then would be more than welcome.

We don’t need to nerf the alliance. Horde buff is enough.

The alliance is not a threath without their heros;) the last win, fought by normal soldiers, against the horde was in wc2^^

So what then? Horde buff hurts nobody. It’s just creates parity.

It will continue the ridiculous power creep the setting. Parity is fine, but the power creep also needs to be brought back in line.

Crying “Alliance bias” is pretty rich when Saurfang gets four max-quality cinematics dedicated to him being a very sad boi while Tyrande becoming a living avatar of her goddess can’t even get a decent-quality cutscene.

Alliance characters being ostensibly more powerful is pointless when they can’t accomplish anything. Tyrande being the Night Warrior is meaningless when she can barely kill a single val’kyr. Jaina being the most powerful mage alive is pointless when the Horde yet again completely loses a war they started and faces zero consequences for it. Malfurion being a relentless force of nature is irrelevant when the Horde can just drop Blight everywhere and instantly win any battle the plot demands (and again, face zero consequences for it).

Don’t worry. Whenever the writers want to, I’m sure Thrall will turn back into World Shaman and the game will chide the Alliance for not being entirely supportive of it.

Give Thrall his powers back, or have Vol’jin give either Rokhan or Zekhan some crazy super powers once he reincarnates.

This has nothing to do with character power levels.

SoL. Jaina frost nova’d an entire battlefield and Anduin destroyed a tank with a sword.

Nathanos couldn’t scratch her and ran away.

Horde.Lost.The.War.

Alliance won every battle after WoT.

When was the last time the Alliance was made to feel bad? I can remember when the Horde was made to feel bad (see BfA).

Quit your whining.

The game hasn’t gone out of its way to tell the Alliance they’re terrible for it yet, but I felt pretty bad being unable to save hundreds of innocents, then being off doing who knows what while Stormwind was on fire, then getting arrested immediately after, then going and beating up a bunch of Zandalari for no discernible reason only to get literally flushed down a plot toilet where none of the aforementioned things mattered any longer.

Unlike the Horde.

I have to laugh at the idea of having to increase the Alliance military power if Jaina and other other powerful characters are nerfed.

The Alliance military won at Arathi. Night Elves and Worgen took back Darkshore. At one poiint, Nathanos is telling us that the Alliance is winning on all fronts.

The Night Elf army was apparently so formidable (without Tyrande and Malfurion) that the Horde had to wait until it was gone in order to invade Ashenvale and Darkshore. Even then, they suffered heavy losses to a ragtag bunch of civilians and guards.

The Alliance military is strong enough now without needing a power up.
