The alliance and horde power parity has grown ridiculous wide. So I write this to my fellow horde posters here now to find a solution to give the horde some power ups. How do we make the horde more powerful. Minus the villain batting of course. Let me hear your thoughts!
Has it, though? The only thing I can think of is the Xenedar, but that’s never going to be used meaningfully henceforth. If anything, I’d say the Horde is more powerful - isn’t that the reason why people say that the game is too Horde centric (or, at least, one of)?
Powerful solo characters like Malfurion, Tyrande and Jaina make the mustering of armies pointless. This is very my topic wants to show some light on. What can we do to counter those massive power houses?
Yep. Saurfang specifically attributes the Horde’s losses in the War of Thorns to Malfurion.
I have the idea that Thrall gets his shaman powers back and Talanji might be extra buffed once Vol’jin ascends to loa hood. That would be the changes I would do if I was in charge of the writing of the game.
Then you have characters like Thalyssra, Thrall (I think he has powered up again?), and then all of the quite powerful gods allied to the Zandalari. Garona/Voss as well - the Alliance’s spy/espionage network is famously assgarbage.
It is true. We have the best rogues. Maybe even hunters if you take Halduron and Lor’themar into consideration. And our dark rangers.
Thalyssra and five other hero characters, as well as the player, can be soloed by Jaina.
Thalyssra had to run away from Jaina. Just shows Blizzards common alliance bias.
That’s just gameplay storytelling; I don’t think that’s a realistic indication of power. In the same vein, Alleria, Jaina, Anduin and Greymane all have brain damage because they didn’t go confront Sylvanas after BFL without a proper contingency plan.
The All-Seeing prophet confirms she can do it, and all Horde heroes run in terror of her ice powers.
And need I remind you, she can effortlessly defeat every jailer the Jailer sends to kill her. Every. One.
This is alliance bias. Nothing new on that front. But with enough work we can fix it.
sigh yep… Thanks Jaina.
I’d rather those characters just get toned down rather than the horde get random stupid power-ups, but I don’t know how you’d go about doing that without damaging them in some way. Giving the horde demigod-tier characters just results in the same problem where their power is badly portrayed. Just look at how Tyrande was received in 8.1.
Thrall, Talanji and Thalyssra would be my candidates for power ups.
But first they’d have to fix the way Horde is written as a whole. Otherwise giving them power ups to match Alliance characters would make them not villains but Supervillains.
Honestly, I could care less which side is stronger than the other as long as we get a decent story out of it. The issue here is that we haven’t been getting a good story at all.
Isn’t Jaina at this point carrying multiple artifacts that magnify her power anyway?
She’s using the same staff she’s always used. I’ve heard arguments that her staff isn’t the thunderking staff. i don’t know. whether it’s by her own strong independent power or not, she’s literally undefeatable by anything other than a raid party, and even then they can’t kill her, she just gets bored and leaves.
I wouldn’t conflate raid mechanics with lore capability. By that logic, it took 25 people to take down a cowardly, child-like water elemental. And that was just to knock some sense into him.
I would normally agree with you, except that she effortlessly kills anything the Jailer sends to kill her. These things can and do effortlessly kill us if they catch us.
