How to find out start date and time of play?

The provided solution for time played doesn’t seem to take into account deleted accounts (characters, that is, not accounts). Over the years I have created and deleted a few characters on a few realms so simply adding up /played for existing characters today just won’t do it.

The only way to get the exact start time/date is just to post here and wait for an SFA to take a peek. It could take a few hours, just as a heads up.

Depending on what you mean by deleted, they may not be able to help you with that.

Usually giving a character-server on the account can help find it, but if they are gone it may be tricky, esp if you deleted your data.

/played is character specific.

I think you meant character, not accounts, but just wanted to clarify.

Apologies, but yes. Characters deleted, not my account.

I’m not entirely certain what you are asking, Ariestotle.

I’m afraid a lot of account specific information is now used to help provide account verification when contacting Support so I might not be able to provide what you are asking for.

I am trying to find the date I started playing Warcraft (I have the 15th anniversary statue) and the total amount of time I have played since then. I believe it is in years now  If it is private then please email me if you can. Thank you.

That isn’t really information I can give you, especially via the forums. We don’t email. As I said, certain information about the account is used to help verify ownership of the account.

So Blizzard can’t tell me my start date or play time? Can they add it to account details? Seems a fairly straightforward ask. How did they know to send me the statue?

It’s like you aren’t listening to him. He can’t give it to you for security reasons.

They have my account email on record so how does it have anything to do with security?

Right off the bat they don’t know it’s really you at the computer. They don’t have faces attached to the details we give them.

I had to sign in to post.

Yes, it is a straightforward ask. I thought I provided a straightforward reply. That is information that we use to help verify that the person contacting us is the registered user on the account.

If you put in a ticket Customer Support may be able to, but I cannot guarantee that. I cannot provide that information in a public forum, and this is not a contact point for Support.

It might be something that could be added to the account details, but that would be something best directed to our Game Developers through a Suggestion submission, which you can put in through the in-game option under the Support Menu.

I never said we didn’t know the information, I said I could not share it and provided the reason why.

Not really. You didn’t provide the information I asked for or a way to get it, until now. Not posting it on the forums I understand but not emailing it to me I don’t understand.

They don’t do email. Period. For any purpose.

It’s like you’re complaining they don’t drive down and deliver the information to you when they don’t have a car.

That doesn’t really mean a lot. Just that either the account was left signed in or that you have the password. Accounts are compromised every day after someone is able to gain the account name/password through multiple means. You don’t have an Authenticator on the account, which increases the security risk.

Yes, and I provided the reasoning as to why. I suggested you could submit a ticket if you want to ask, but with the caveat that they may not provide it. I didn’t initially volunteer that option because it is not something we generally provide and I don’t usually like to give someone an option that is not supported.

This is not a ticket system to request direct assistance, Ariestotle. We don’t email people, it is not in the scope of what support we do provide in this forum.

Web browsers today have built-in ways of saving credentials to make signing in easy, skip the manual typing process. There are many avenues that could lead to an account compromise. Most are accidental on the user’s end, but anyone with a bone to pick can take a forceable route.

Job scope plays a huge role within Blizzard. Someone can email it, it just isn’t within the range of a forum employee’s tasks. As Vrak says, ticketing a game master will give you the result of that request, either by emailing or stating they also can’t provide that information.

You did NOT suggest any solution with your first response. Now I have a possible solution, thank you for that, but a simple ask seemed to turn into a rather rude exchange.
