How to Dismiss Garrison Bodyguard?

I have Rexxar following me around killing everything I’m trying to tame. How do I dismiss him?

Right-click him and tell him to return to the barracks.

All that pops up “target marker Icons”, Set Focus" & “Edit Mode” when I click on his health bar

Have you tried clicking on him (not his health bar)?

The same way you assign them: go to the garrison architect’s table, click on and look at the Barracks building, see that the companion is in the “assigned follower” slot. Click the “Remove” button (red circle with slash) next to the companion’s icon and that unassigns them.

Yes, right clicked, left clicked… nothing

Well, while that might end up being the solution if they are unable to get the dialogue option to work while out in the world - that is removing them as a Bodyguard option, not dismissing them (which should be available via their dialogue options normally).

And you are in range of them when clicking their physical form, correct?

Standing right next to him. I even went back to the garrison and tried to dismiss from the architect table but I’m not seeing any options. I’m just coming back from a 7 year hiatus so it’s been a hot minute since I originally assigned him

It will be the same for Alliance or Horde. Just click on the Barracks and then click the :no_entry_sign: above the bodyguard’s name.

I can click on it but it doesn’t give me options other than I can drag the barracks to another location (which I’m assuming would be bad)

I take it there is no easy way to get a GM to just remove him?

Does it show an assigned bodyguard while you are at the Architect Table with the Barracks selected?

Does it not appear as it does in my screenshots above?

Maybe I have to upgrade? I have a level 1 barracks. My screen doesn’t have the bodyguards listed like yours

Yes. It requires a level 2 Barracks in order to assign a bodyguard.

What is the name of the NPC accompanying you?

It’s Rexxar

Rexxar is not a garrison follower. But he does accompany you on some quests, especially in Gorgrond.

Which zones are you in when he is with you?

I’m on the broken isles when he all of a sudden appears and 1 shot kills whatever I’m trying to tame

Okay, so the Broken Isles wouldn’t have anything to do with the Garrison stuff.

Which class is dealing with the issue? Which quests does that character have in their quest log?

He does help Hunters with quests and is one of their followers.

If it is a Hunter with this issue, then click UNASSIGN to remove him as a Combat Ally.

I don’t have him as a Combat Ally at the moment cause he is on a mission, but same thing applies.

Yes, it’s on my hunter. Forgot the hunter class hall existed. I see the artifact table and can mess with my old weapon but I’m not seeing a mission table in there.
