Go to vendor in Booty Bay… store UI comes up. You spend $20 and get a random “TCG scratch off card”. RIP when it’s just a white consumable item. Some people get spectral tiger tho. It’s per char and nothings account wide. There’s no other UI or collection tab of cards… the item you get just goes into your bag or mailed if your bag is full. Option to redeem any codes that were never used before when it was a real thing. Idk why they are making new stuff and pissing everyone off when they could have just provided a new way to obtain the sh*t that was already available back in the day.
This would actually be worse than a deluxe edition. It’s basically loot box MTX.
Its okay the original warcraft cards were basically loot boxes with a high chance to get nothing for people who just bought for the chance to get a scratch off. Plus most of is is BoE so if you don’t want to spend money you can buy it with gold on the AH.
The original TCG packs being physical loot boxes doesn’t magically make it okay.
I’d much rather have a CE than loot boxes.
But everyone who is going to buy it once will and then blizz is looking for another terrible idea to generate revenue as it’s a one time purchase. With the TGC cards people will keep buying either to collect items or hoping to get something worth auctioning. It’s more sustainable and still more true to the original game than this deluxe edition…
If you want true to the original they should bring back RaF and let people buy it an unlimited amount of times, which includes being able to instantly boost a character up to 58 after you’ve leveled an alt already.
RaF was added to the game a few months before the WotLK pre-patch, so it would be “true to the original TBC”.
Which would be much worse than a once per account boost but hey, people are saying they want the original thing as it was back in the day.
