So in other words youre a sweaty gold buyer who respecs every time you step foot outside a city for whatever reason.
Yeah many people are bad.
Them being bad does not invalidate DS.
DS means I don’t have to change my bars again, and I can just do it at will. I have friends who log on and then say “hey lets run instance” and im mid farm and in pvp spec.
DS allows me to just head over to the instance instead of being a hinderance needing to run back to the closest city to respec for a few instances.
You say the ability to do it on demand changes a lot, so what does that entail? What is “a lot”.
Now where did I insult you?

You just described numerous gameplay changes in your post itself.
Literally when you said “i’m mid farm and in pvp spec and my friend wants to run a dungeon”
and then suddenly you just use dual spec to respec to PvE spec to run a dungeon right then and there instantly at no cost wherever you are in the world.
^ That is a major change, before you would’ve had to make the intentional choice to say:
“I’m already in PvP spec to farm, my friend wants to run a dungeon, I don’t wanna go to the city and spend 50g to respec, then pay another 50g to respec back after just for the dungeon, so instead I’m just gonna run the dungeon in my PvP spec since that’s what I am right now.”
That’s a major gameplay difference.

like I told you before, give these people an inch and they’ll take a mile blizzard said “dual spec will be implemented at some point in the future” so now they’re abandoning their line about 50g being sooo expensive. they are revealing their true motive: to be able to change specs wherever and whenever they want, thus changing vanilla game play irreparably. that’s what it’s ALWAYS been about. the gold issue was a lie

All you’re describing is “Dual spec is going to make changes that are 100% expected of dual spec to do.” which yes, that’s why we want dual spec.
So again, what is “a lot” other than exactly what I already expected and support?

What exactly is that? Describe it. If it exists, surely it’s describable and recreatable.

So describe it, in a way that only applies to era and can not be applied to TBC, and is somehow also taken away with DS allowing one to change out in the world. I’ll wait.

Why is it a do nothing sentence? Because you’re saying what is already clearly observed and factual without anything else needed.

I will ask again. What is “a lot”. All you have done is describe EXACTLY WHAT DUAL SPEC WILL DO. WHICH IS ALREADY KNOWN.
That’s not even “a lot”. How does this affect raids? I’ll wait for you to respond with “it allows switching and can force others to do something they don’t want” which will not be done by low tier players because they don’t care, and won’t be done by high tier players because switching constantly takes too much time. The time spent switching outweighs the speed gained by being “more optimal” for the specific fight.
How does it affect pvp? It doesn’t. You shouldn’t be able to switch once a game starts, and out in the world is moot because one can already switch before going out into the world. The “element of having dedicated pvpers out there” doesn’t exist to begin with because one can still change before going out.
How does it affect the game? You have yet to describe it other than basically telling me that Dual Spec will do EXACTLY WHAT IT ALREADY IS SUPPOSED TO DO, then chalking it up as “its not vanilla” when it’s not aimed at being a 100% recreation of vanilla to begin with. If that’s what you want, the best you can get is the ALREADY EXISTING ERA SERVERS, or go private server.
Talk about arguing in bad faith when you have a critical misunderstanding of what I am even asking by saying “Describe ‘a lot.’”

Here are my thoughts, if you can do it anywhere anytime then the cost of it should be equivalent to the level 60 epic mount purchase. If it is dirt cheap say under 100g the swap should be only usable in Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, or Undercity.
You didn’t give me a single reason that it would be bad to swap on the fly anywhere, like at least give me one.
In SoD rogues can swap to sub, hit preparation, and then swap back and have all their CDs.
It’s ridiculous.
