How should dual spec work in anniversary?

Major cities only with a small gold cost would most closely mirror Vanilla while also adding the QOL of dual spec and a cheaper cost.

so, what it is currently, just at a fixed price. no.

You’re right, we do know exactly what we’re getting. But at the end of the day, whether it be dual spec, or if they were to implement some other feature that was not in Vanilla, these changes were never in any iteration of Vanilla Classic up until now. Right? So based on the player feedback given to Blizzard, we are trying something new. We are experimenting.

Edit: And in that same sense, if the players decided that they no longer wanted dual spec, instant mail, or something else, if there were enough voices and feedback, it wouldn’t be surprising for these to be removed.

Standard dual spec rules. This constant need for a compromise is silly. Limiting it to major cities defeats the entire point of it

Yeah I am just not convinced this is a thing in classic because most specs are not viable. There won’t be a need for a shaman to go ele/enh in any situation over resto. You wanna argue that a enh/ele might have to go resto for a specific fight, fine.

But other than warriors being able to switch from dps to tank and vice versa I just don’t see it.

I do come from the min/max environment where we swapped classes so I will concede I am okay with it, yet I am not convinced dual spec is a replacement for this. When I say we swapped players, it was legit class swaps, not spec.

But just so we’re on the same page. I’m totally fine with it being major city only. I am mostly excited about being able to go holy/disc for raids and shadow for pvp without it costing me 100s of gold per lockout.

If it has to exist it should be only at trainers and should cost as much as an epic mount at the minimum.

only changeable at the trainer :expressionless:
everyone said the reason they need dual spec is cuz 50g is too much money.
ok, then dual spec should be nothing more than the ability to save and freely switch between 2 specs at the trainer.
there is NO justification for allowing spec changes anywhere in the world.

you’re wrong :expressionless:

I predict it won’t matter what the community wants. It will be implemented the same as in other versions of classic that support it. Maybe the gold cost will go up.

Regarding swap, it’ll be out of combat and take a couple seconds. Same as sod.

you don’t know that :expressionless:

I’m going to say changeable anywhere because who cares.
If anything, people are still going to go to a major city, change specs and go right back into the raid. And again
 And again.

It’s just going to piss people off for wasting time and eventually people will cry “let us change specs wherever we are”

So yes, changeable wherever.

it’s not because “who cares” it’s because you, personally, want the easy mode of switching specs wherever you want :expressionless:

Yes, :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: that’s definitely why Argentia. :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless:

We should get dual spec baseline. Would make leveling easier for everybody. More deep spec healers and tanks for dungeons.

You’re probably right just because it’s easier, but it’s funny that when the community wants dual spec it matters.

But when the community wants to make dual spec fit Vanilla better, that may not matter?

We’ll see, the fact that they didn’t elaborate on dual spec makes me thing it could include changes to make it fit Vanilla better. Ex. only usable in major cities, gold cost, etc.

You just described the slippery slope perfectly.

Why wouldn’t you want Dual spec in the game? Does it make you angry people don’t wanna be locked into a spec? Does it make you angry people want to PVP and PVE without having to spend all their gold everyweek?

Yep. Which is what people used to do + swapping out classes/specs mid-raid.

This :expressionless: they aren’t providing details because they’re gonna make it a new (more restrictive) system that fits better with Vanilla.

I imagine it will just be the same system - they’ve yet to change how it works in any other version of the game besides Retail, which is entirely different.
