Had a citation on it in a guild bank thread over a year ago, I’m not going to dig it up especially considering this isn’t about guild banks, nor would you care to actually read it considering pro dual spec zealots are outright ignoring the devs from tbc saying spec swapping (which is what dual spec is) does not fit in tbc game design when they said “no” to it.
If it doesn’t make an impactful change to the shortage, which it didn’t in wotlk, why is it worth going against tbc game design for a “help” that wasn’t even noticeable. It might cut down the wait time by a minute or two on average for pugs. But that’s less than 5% if the people claiming they wait 2+ hours on average are to be believed.
So you want to go against tbc game design for a very minor help to the tank shortage, is that your argument?
I never had much money in WoW until Garrisons came out. I’d much rather pay a one-time fee and have the convenience of swapping specs when I feel like it.
Well shouldn’t you start by bringing one first? Oh, right… you’re one of those 5-6 trolls that just change characters to agree with yourself… because you don’t actually have anyone that really agrees…
there’s a tank shortage because people DONT WANT to tank lol. It’s not a fun role to have do the the majority of the work for the entire group and very few people actually enjoy doing it when they don’t need something from it.
figuring out how to make enough gold for your consumes and respecs is the bare minimum of playing vanilla/tbc. if you can’t even do that, then it’s time to find a different game to play. i don’t mean that to be snarky either, it’s just the truth. if you can’t get yourself to farm this minimum amount of gold, you’re probably just bored with the game. it’s time to move on.
dual spec won’t magically rekindle your love affair with TBC. the novelty would wear off and you’ll be bored again very quickly. in other words: you think you do but you don’t.
They probably started developing Guild Banks at the end of Vanilla.
They probably talked about wanting to do Guild Banks at the end of Vanilla.
They started developing Dual Spec in the latter half of TBC.
They talked about wanting to do Dual Spec at the end of TBC.
They didn’t balance the game around Dual Spec, they said as much. If they started to develop the feature during TBC, because of issues in TBC; that means they would have implemented it in TBC if it was finished in time.
A) I was refering to my time in retail (my reference to Garrisons would be a clue for anyone who READS)
B) I’m lucky to have more than a few hours of play time per week. I’d rather not spend that time farming
It’s amazing some people think that something like dual spec was some spur of the moment decision blizzard made in wrath and for some reason had nothing to do with behavior they saw in TBC.
They said they wanted to add guild banks during vanilla.
What did they say about spec swapping or dual spec in tbc? No.
Big difference there.
One of them they wanted to add because they felt it worked with their game design goals. The other they said no to and changed their mind an expansion later.
