How often? So frustrated with the mining!

So how often do these ores respawn. I am out here in Arathi trying to mine but the same 2 other players have been out here for what seems like all day mining and I can’t hardly get anything. Is there a timer? Do the ores respawn in the same place and what is the time for respawn because I am approaching 30 minutes and no respawn. They need to change that!

Anything node related when it comes to classic is beyond frustrating especially if you don’t have an epic mount. Currently I’m like you, but with herbs. I need to get higher than 100 and I’m having a hard time finding nodes in general, but especially ones that will level me.

East Loch Modan, full of Mageroyal and Briarthorn, and most people avoid the place.

I’ll have to check it out. I’m leveling in Duskwood and the same 3 or 4 people keep snatching nodes when I mount to them.

I believe the spawn is variable, there is a timer, but its a minimum timer + - another number of minutes. There is also some fail-safes built in when the nodes are being farmed to increase how quickly they spawn, though that part of it might be retail only. I recently farmed Arathi myself for an alt, and I had to dive into the caves quite often to get good returns. I would pick up gathermate if you have not so you know where the spawns are.

Oh god, Duskwood is mob dense and full of hills and valleys!

Loch Modan is nice and flat, definitely easier to ride around on! Best of luck!

Level 22(?) you can get Herbalist Gloves (+5) then have them enchanted with +5 Herbalism for an easy +10 to boost you along.

the spawns are dynamic because nerds camped black lotus.

Gold farmers. Good luck competing. It’s bad. Tried to mine mithril the other day there was 20 people per zone lol

This should actually smooth over at some point (hopefully soon) there is just a ton of traffic from DKs and boosted toons doing professions.

Good luck friend. I was doing some mining earlier. Was about 5 minutes in and had gotten a few nodes. Suddenly I get passed by 3 people on epic flying mounts… 20 minutes later and I hadn’t seen a single other node. Turned around and decided I’d just backtrack the opposite direction… passed again and not a single node. Don’t even get me started on the obvious bots too who haven’t logged off in multiple days and still run the same perfect circles.

Yeah I manage to get my mining to 300 but I’m just gonna stop there for now cause I just know I can’t compete in outlands.

I went to Loch Modan and found maybe 2 herbs. But there is a ton of 70s here farming so I’ll probably be fine for a couple of weeks while they’re playing Wrath.

Dang, I do not envy mega servers.

My next best suggestion would be swapping layers.

Mega servers are great for selling stuff. We left it back when tbc started because honestly mega servers suck, but then we came back to Alliance because my friends cousins play here. So we abanodned ship without money and I’ve made well over 300g as a fresh new character. My only issue is it’s anti-social and everything has the capacity of being both extremely cheap and extremely expensive. Case in point Travelers backpacks go for like 1g some days, but upgrades for me are like 4-10g a piece unless my buddy crafts it. Honestly I don’t really like it. But the gold is good.

You can Smelt your way to 290 Mining you know, so if you’re frustrated with Mining Nodes, go farm a few dungeons for some gold and buy ores off the AH to smelt.

DK mine swarm has been making anything gathering related an incredible chore. I’ve seen the same one in Badlands doing mithril routes for -days- straight. It’s absurd.

If you’re farming iron, stick to the lower/eastern side of Arathi’s route. There’s two caves you can go through with the occasional node along the mountains. Or try Alterac.

I have had luck competing for nodes by going to the extreme other end from where the other players are. Often I have to wait for a spawn, but once they start spawning, you can reliably get quite a bit of ore, just by being patient and camping an area.

Man you need some innovation.
If something is overly competitive, find a different profession and use some out of the box thinking.

I just went to Desolace for my Mithril mining. No one was there.
