Like it’s only happened to me once I would say, but I would definitely say I couldn’t have just “mentally ignored” them and the ignore was warranted.
Should be. It’s pretty silly. You won’t report someone for bad language, if you can’t see the bad language. So turn it on if you’re bothered by it and save yourself some clicks.
You can still report someone’s inappropriate language if you have the filter on. The onus isn’t on the person reading the message. It’s on the person typing it.
Just don’t type swear words and save yourself some button presses.

Combing through these posts from many of the people who look for reasons to report other players seems to be coming from mostly solo players who play alone.
Why not just go on your way instead of reporting people when you see &8*($% instead of being bothered and offended for something you can’t even see? lol

I do. I also don’t let what random people say bother me enough to make me report them to the authorities. I don’t have to report people to Blizzard for saying a bad word and I don’t have to run to HR to tell on people at work.
Why not just not let what others say bother you and skip over reading it? Especially if your language filter is already on. You do you though.
With the amount of childish banter it is on the daily whenever I decide to play.

Probably a few times a day, given how crazy my server is. Someone is almost always trying to inject politics into trade chat.
I almost never report or ignore or flag people.
The only time I ever report in game is usually after a Battleground, if someone whispers me an offensive racial remark. Not that it happens a lot, but it has.
And these people don’t know what race I am - they just whisper every offensive term for every race and hope they get one right.
That’s why I report them - they almost never insult me with the correct racial slur. I don’t really care…. But if they are spouting that to me, they probably spout it to others, and decent people shouldn’t be subject to that.
Like being whispered that I am some random racial slur is kind of funny to me, but the people sending those whispers intend to hurt. God forbid they whisper that to someone who might have their feelings hurt.

Well I report 10 - 20 players a day from the LFG. All the WTS listings with a link to a website.
It’s been a year or two for me.
Very rarely and if I report someone it’s most likely going to take place in a dungeon group when certain people think they can say whatever they want.
I’ve mentioned I don’t report or ignore much (maybe three ignores and a report over the course of the last entire expansion) but I also can’t really bring myself to be concerned with how others handle their time online.
I don’t care if other people have full ignore lists. Why would and how could I?
Why would you care if a solo player puts you on ignore or reports you? I mean assuming they are always overreacting then why would anyone be actioned for it?
People may not want to see what goes on in my parties but I can handle myself in public so I don’t run into this concern.
On a typical day, which I honestly haven’t had in a bit, I’m reporting anywhere between 10-25 people a day.
Most of these are clear examples of RP naming violations. Others are hate speach, spamming in Newcommer Chat, advertisements, and sometimes just horrible outbursts by others.
The people on my ingnore list are the ones that are just horrible offenders of the above.
More and more regularly. A lot of crappy tanks in mid keys who think they are special because they are tanks.
