Mute rather often, report only if they are exceptionally awful. The latter is pretty rare, thankfully.
Edit: were we talking about in game or forums? I’ve never muted or reported anyone on the forums, just don’t care to.

Never……ever.
Report? Never done that.
Ignore? Maybe once every couple years.
I have never ignored anyone in game…
yet
Every day. Its every day without a doubt.
I have never ignored a player.
Report? Never, that’s not a high-horse I ride upon
Ignore? Once a week or so.
The only thing I report ingame are attempts to impersonate a GM. That feels like something that must be reported.
I’ve mostly left all the chat channels, but a couple of times per year, I’ll be on an alt and see something that forces me to pull out an ignore.
Maybe 10 times in 20 years.
More than you’d think but less than you’d hope
It’s not just mmos. It’s everywhere. Unfortunately.
Only one person, ever, and it was because they were spamming chat with the N word and other overtly racist language.
I mainly just ignore ppl who spam my chat window with Elitism Helper.
You don’t have to be triggered or offended to think something is inappropriate and that the person behind what was said should get a reminder of what the rules are and learn the boundaries instead of just being a snowball rolling downhill of no consequences until they’re shocked (shocked!) that they ended up with a suspension when they’ve done and seen so much worse in the past.
I consider it to be doing them a favor, that they’re being taught that there are, in fact, clear and understandable lines around socially acceptable public behavior that yes, even apply in video games. If they can learn them now, then getting a job or shopping at WalMart where they’ll need to regularly deal with people they don’t agree with who have different backgrounds and experiences than they do won’t be such a baffling experience.
I don’t go out of my way to hang out in chats where people generally feel like they should be able to spray whatever’s in their head into the chat prompt, I only ever see Trade and LFG when I’m on my bank alt and I don’t do any PVP and almost no LFR/LFD, but if I do happen to see someone who’s WAY too comfortable with slurs, swearing and gross behavior I’ll report and let Blizzard sort out if they think it was worth a reminder on how to behave like a human being that’s in the company of other human beings.
For me personally I just don’t want hateful people playing a game I care about and being part of the community. I don’t want to have to feel ashamed when I tell people I play this game because they might associate me with a bad community full of bigots. So I will go out of my way to report people who are being hateful and bigoted to do what little I can to not have one of my favorite games and its community associated with that.
I’m not “thin skinned” or “triggered”, I just don’t want one of my favorite games to have a bad community.
It’s a very rare occurrence for me, I want to say maybe every 5 or 6 months.
I’m surprised that you’re surprised, tbh. People wake up looking around for reasons to be offended, especially here. Being a victim is a badge of honor to some people.
Once a decade or so.
Never.
If you can’t just mentally ignore someone then we don’t perceive the world through the same lens and we just wont get alone. I cannot begin to put myself into the shoes of people who have full ignore lists.
I like to imagine what some of these people are like irl. It’s like watching those youtube cringe videos.
