How often do you report or ignore someone?

Prove it. Show me a single instance of it happening.

I report people spamming politics in Trade Chat all the time.

I type /who gnome and randomly choose one person every 5 seconds to report I hope blizzard enjoys the hard work I put in doing their job for them the gnomish filth must be cleansed from azeroth

I mostly report people listing M+ carry website stuff. Not sure if Iā€™m doing any good or not.

Maybe you misread and thought that was an answer somehow.

edit: actually, glancing through your other posts in this thread itā€™s pretty clear that youā€™re just a troll.

Youā€™ve probably caught a chat ban before and hope that by spreading this misinformation youā€™ll avoid one in the future. Happy to do my best to stop your efforts.

I think this is mostly towards those who mass report people as a group to force people to stop competing with them in game in some way or to just grief them if enough players do it they get banned till its reviewed so a few hours or a day depending on how long blizzard takes they were doing it during the AQ gate quest line in classic to block people farming the items for the first quest I am unaware if you just randomly start reporting everyone online if you trigger a ban on yourself or not

I think I ignore on average one player a month, we always come across someone we donā€™t like every now and then.

And about reporting, a few times I said I would report it (but I didnā€™t) just to see if the player would stop talking nonsense in the world chat, but it seems that didnā€™t work xD. I only really report it if someone whispers to me to say toxic things, or if the player says something really offensive in public chats.

Reading this thread I am shocked ( guess I shouldnt be) at how thin skinned people are.

Yā€™all really out here mashing a report button when you see words you donā€™t like in a game.

And people wonder why nobody talks in/plays mmos.

Nice bait. ā€˜ā€™ While we encourage you to report players that are behaving in a disrespectful manner, falsely reporting another player with the sole intent of restricting their gameplay is also unacceptable and will result in penalties to your account.

If youā€™re unsure if your actions violate this code of conduct, reconsider them. We reserve the right to restrict offending accounts as much as necessary to keep Blizzard games a fun experience for all players.ā€™ā€™

I havenā€™t updated my ignore window for a few xpacs, I noticed more than a few players names I have ignored are now numbers cause somebody ( not me ) flagged their names.
I havenā€™t seen any bots in TWW, so I havenā€™t reported them.

I reported 1 kid a while back cause he named his druid a flagrant curse word and I think maybe that is the only incident since january.
Normally I dont report every curse word name I see, but this one was very disrespectful .

My ignore lists are long and distinguished.

I usually donā€™t have to do either one. If someone drops racial slurs or sharing adult graphic content links and promos in chat (yes, this has happened twice since I started playing WoW), I will report that as inappropriate chat communication. But most of the time, I donā€™t worry about it.

I canā€™t say that I ever have. Iā€™ve been on the receiving end of being banned on the forums for what I would call a ridiculous reason but I can say when that happened it just stoked the fire. That said, if I was to ever report or flag somebody I would think that person would feel in the right and have further anger towards whatever the reason was, then probably come back and talk about how the community sucks and thereā€™s too much hand holding or people being soft.

I feel I should clarify that that is not what I did.

In the forums Iā€™ve never put anyone on ignore. Iā€™ve reported a few with particularly vile takes on things, usually along with a rather juvenile character name.

In game I only put spammers on ignore and have reported obvious bots and folks in chat with vile takes that would have garnered votes in 1930ā€™s Germany.

Now I do mute a lot of threads especially once they devolve into just a few people arguing and getting rather personal in their attacks or stuff irrelevant to me such as M+ complaints.

Almost never, I think Iā€™ve only blocked like one or two ppl after angry PVP whispers. If I report, itā€™s usually for really terrible stuff, probably mostly names with racial slurs in them.

I vaguely recall reporting a couple times many years ago. Nothing recently.

I once got reported by a guild leader from a guild I was a member of after I quoted a movie. Nothing vulgar or offensive, just something he finally got to use against me. He used to report people from other guilds that he considered ā€œrivals.ā€

Ignore is a different animal. Iā€™ll ignore people I talk to on a regular basis just because theyā€™re throwing a fit about something. As I get older I have a much lower tolerance for other peopleā€™s rants. I only want to hear my rants at this stage. So I use ignore as a kind of timeout. If enough of them get going, Iā€™ll mute the channel theyā€™re in.

not only have I reported every person in the thread but I placed them on ignore as well

Well I muted threads on these forums left and right and nearly daily of that counts.

Ignoring all in the game chat o used to but I hardly join the chat channels unless I have a reason to. Even then Iā€™m pretty oblivious to what people say. My focus when playing is just to enjoy my time . Iā€™m listening to a podcast and just questing or doing a drive or whatever in my own world.

In short I have so little patience for peopleā€™s bs I just tune it out.

Rude! :dracthyr_cry_animated:

Rarely if ever because Iā€™m a grown adult not a whiny crybaby.
