Three? Five? Six?
I got three different versions of the same belt and two different versions of the same ring. The split between explorer >adventurer >veteran > champion > hero is insane lol. This is the worst nightmare possible.
When are you going to recombine non-rated pvp gear? Obsidian-scalewarden… and just put pvp stats and ilvl on normal gear?
This is insane. I actually had a very minor anxiety attack going through my 3 bags of gear and 5 equipment sets today… I cannot even play one spec only without being heavily punished in pvp and world content as a healer…
Logged off to go watch stargate sg 1 for the 14th time. It’s probably for the best since gearing has become so toxic it actually rattled me. And I have decades worth of psychological and spiritual training to face real world trauma.

Yes we have 4 raid difficulties
Many different pvp reward ranks
and M+ now with much more levels of difficulty
Now some of them have names, so nothing much changed outside of that.

progression is progression. Normal and Heroic gear both stops at 437 until you start doing 16+ keys and mythic raid.

I just keep the item with highest potential stats and vend anything else.

There is a part of me that misses the simplicity of vanilla - wrath where every item was just…the item.
Not 47295883 item level versions of the same item.
I mean I understand why we are where we are with all the difficulty settings, but there is something to be said about just having…an item.

With me it depends solely on stats if it balances well the more I’ll keep it. Some lower gear I keep if I don’t balance.
Honestly I dont have problems with the different tiers of the same gear.
We have had LFR, Normal, Heroic and Mythic gear for how many years now?
Any of the lower tiers are just your quest and dungeon tiers.
I normally say Oh sweet this one can be upgraded to 441 or 447 and just replace the existing one.
My biggest complaint is the bag space required for all the upgrade items. You should have 4 currencies (whelp scale, drake scale, wyrm scale, aspect scale) that are tracked on the currency tab. Then I can buy a upgrade item (made Bind on Account when Catalysts are released) from a vendor next to the upgrade npc.

Lets put it this way.
Managing equipment for two specs for pvp and pve shouldn’t be this traumatic.
2 specs. Raid, solo and open world, bg and arena pvp, and m+
That’s ten gear specs with overlap. Then throw in bags full of this stuff. Keeping some of it in the bank (incase) then getting dupes which are often down grades …
It’s an insane chore to manage even if you use addons and make concessions about which gear to use.
Scalewarden also literally take forever to upgrade. And had no discount or catchup mechanic as far as I can see.
I got a replacement scalewarden cape with speed. Sitting in my bank.
It shouldn’t take me over an hour to sort all this out. And my discipline spec shouldn’t be able to dps through solo content without having a set just to stack crit and haste.

You sound like you should spend the day outside. Maybe at a park, or someplace quiet where you could relax, have a picnic, read a book?

The purpose of the different tracks is so people don’t farm +2s or LFR/normal, then upgrade them to mythic raid level. To get good gear you should have to farm content at a high level and then upgrade it from there.

You have too farm content at a high lvl to get one of the bazillion kind of currency to upgrade it to a high level?

But theres no need for all this difficulty. We had it right with regular dungeons being chill. Heroics for a little stress and raids for intensity and heroic raids for the serious. Now its regular (ignore all rules of 5 man groups) heroics (no stress just spam whatever) mythic (depends on level) and then lfr (what are mechanics)
