For example, fishing, cooking, running, walking, dances. Lets not pretend that blizzard is going to start changing 20 year old animations out of the goodness of their heart, so would you pay for them if they were optional additions in the shop?
If not, why not? These could also end up on the traders shop.
They aren’t THAT greedy. Things like animations, those are global and need an overhaul as it is. The first gen of Allied races need their own animations, still!
Custom emotes… I could see them do that. It would still make a LOT of people angry though.
You should try to be constructive as well. If you don’t want to see items in the shop, say so. I personally believe they’re just gonna keep adding to it, so might as well add something that improves the old animations and lets you change the aged dances of some of the other races.
Of all the things they might add for real cash, animations are going to be ar the bottom of that list. WoW’s ancient rigs aren’t built to quickly mo-cap someone and then slap that animation onto them.
The amount of effort vs. potential monetary reward is so low they would never do it.
If they want to keep people playing and paying they will update them just like they have in the past. This is the kind of thing you see in F2P or B2P games but not in sub based games.
I already pay for game time, expansions, character services, and store cosmetics. I will not pay for new animations, new races (with unique skeletons or otherwise), housing, or anything else that I would typically be charged for in an F2P Korean MMO, which this game is not.
None of these would be interesting enough to pay for, or even put much effort into in game to get.
I’d really love to see spell effect options, even just colors, expanded on similar to warlocks green fire or various glyphs. If it would require being in the cash shop to get anything at all now, I guess I could accept that as they’ve pretty much abondoned such ideas at this point otherwise.
