How many of you will play on fresh servers if they come out?

Why would you? Look at the current state Classic is in. You’re going to invest hundreds of hours leveling (potentially thousands depending on the type of player you’re in) to experience WoW classic 2.0 again, to watch them screw the servers and then see all that work you spent go completely down the drain as it’s entirely abandoned again? No thanks, bro. Not for me. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. And let’s be real; it’s gonna be filled with microtransaction nonsense where Blizzard will sell you every imaginable thing and you can pretend it’s not p2w because of 1 layer of obfiscation.

People who did this the first time knew what they were getting themselves into. People again will understand they take a risk:

Part of the reason for THIS discussion and for players like you and me posting here is with the hopes (no guarantees) that Blizzard will do their part to win back the trust of the player base they’ve betrayed. I simply want a Fresh game experience with minimal changes. I think most players agree fundamentally to minimalize (but maybe necessity of SOME) changes to the game.

Don’t let them off the hook. Make our demands clear and resounding and they will give us a product that we will pay for. In the end they are a business trying to make money. It doesn’t pay to make everyone mad and drive them away from the company. *cross fingers Maybe this time they won’t screw things up… as bad

I think the “must have” changes for fresh would be:

  1. Disable world buffs in raids. The chronoboon is NOT the solution to this problem, and the real problem isn’t raid logging.

  2. Nerf the XP from boosting. I’m not 100% sure what that would entail but needs to be done to discourage that as the main way to level.

  3. Adjust boss health/damage in raids to compensate for increased skill/latency/etc. They don’t need new things but tweak the difficulty so it feels like it would in 2005 e g. Without being over geared you probably can’t kill Rag before a submerge. I’d love to say remove debuff cap but I think that would introduce more challenges.

3a) Progressive itemization rather than immediately use the updated version of existing items.

  1. NO SPELL BATCHING

  2. Actually ban bots

I absolutely would. I missed the original release of Classic after being gone since 2011 (over 9 years.) So when I did try it after it was already out close to a year, the experience was incredibly watered down, as everyone was already 60 and hanging out in Orgrimmar all day, all the leveling zones past The Barrens were, in fact, barren, and I couldn’t find a group for anything in under an hour or two. I’m actually very much looking forward to the re-release.

It was so lame leveling in virtually empty zones that I don’t make it past level 28 before throwing in the towel.

Barely anyone to be honest.

The last hurrah took place in 2019 for majority of the audience. I doubt players have any interest in fresh classic servers.

Spot on!!!

I’d drop TBC in a heart beat for vanilla classic with:

  • No world buffs in raids
  • No mage boosts, or hunters exploiting DM
  • Raid boss debuff cap increased so other specs are competitive
  • Ban Bots

I would be playing fresh classic the moment it went live.

Yes I’m sure you and your alts are having a great time with the other 6 people still playing classic era. Fresh is coming and your server will be even more dead.

honestly? Yes I would, I’d like classic plus but I would still do fresh, for me the best part was leveling fresh when everyone was on the same level, made the world feel alive, and on pvp servers oh boy it was awesome, I’d also like to swap it up this time around and do alliance

yup, all I want to do now is start over again on a fresh vanilla server. I did the TBC song and dance, but at the end of the day I don’t find it as fun or interesting as vanilla. I hope Blizzard releases one soon-ish.

World buffs, bots and boosting need to be removed. Then and only then would I consider returning.
