I am just interested in seeing who actually wants to reroll and start from phase 1 again with some changes.
nope, not me
I would play because it would be fun. If they make 2 many servers than the game will be poop and everyone will quit .
My main and many alts are playing Classic Era now, I would not be joining a fresh server. There is no need for it.
classic +: yes, seasonal fresh servers:no.
I wouldnāt rejoin Vanilla Classic version of the game unless it was a solid Classic+ effort, with updated talent spec fixing/balancing, gear itemization, newer character models, etc.
Not a chance dude/dudette
I will be, there is a need for it. No need for me to lie saying i wont play and shill retail-lite. Ill take it āwarts and allā
Depends on the changes really.
Maybe. In a project clearly labeled as āClassic+ā I would try to keep an open mind. I would hope theyād still stick to the spirit of the design of the old game (emphasis on rpg, immersion, community and social interactions), but make tweaks based on the fact situations and scenarios arise now that the original devs never anticipated or had to deal with.
The one thing that would instantly drive me away is cash shop and micro-transactions. Thatās what killed TBC Classic for me. I left Retail to get away from that crap. No boosts. No Deluxe Edition. No buying mounts, pets, toys. Keep that crap out and Iād give it a shot. And ffs, deal with bots.
100 percent, classic Era is a dead wasteland. Full reset from phase 1 to progress through the phases again will be fun
Iād very likely play it. While I was around for the original Classic, I didnāt give it a proper shot and never hit cap. I also rolled on a PvE realm. This time around Iād go straight in with one character on a PvP realm and focus on enjoying the early period with everyone levelling.
Changes or no changes makes no real difference to me, although I do think Classic needs to modernise and updates itself to survive past the initial phases or the only way it will ever stay relevant is fresh servers every 2 years or so. Classic+ is really the only logical future for the game imo.
I would always play on fresh classic servers, so long they were properly spaced. I am done with TBC and likely wonāt play Wrath, if they do a classic version. From TBC, I can tell that the expansions donāt work well in a āclassicā state. The original game does, and Iād play it over and over.
All the way up until wotlk comes out.
Classic+ yes.
Not regular Vanilla again.
Iām going to throw out a crazy idea that people will scoff at immediately. Iāve been looking at a certain private server, and they implemented level caps for certain periods of time and then gradually increase the cap every few weeks or maybe months. Thatās an interesting idea. I know the hardcore players who want to race and compete would rage about such a thing, but think about itā¦
The journey suddenly has meaning. The content along the way has value. You get to experience it all without feeling a need to rush past it. The world will be vibrant and alive. Players active in all manner of content. I think it would really help promote the game as a whole. Everyone is involved in everything at around the same time. More people = better experience in an mmorpg. At least that should be the case.
Otherwise itās just going to be a mad rush just like Classic was. Some will enjoy the journey but suddenly and quickly the hardcore players are leaps and bounds beyond everyone else. Thereās this immediate feeling of having to play catch-up. The atmosphere switches to one of min/max and ultra meta gamingā¦and we end up right back where we did the first time.
No, itās an awful idea.
so theres going to be 4 live versions of WoW? seems pointless to me. hard pass on classic era, who would want to raid MC all over again??
I might play TBC fresh if it came out in a few years, but I wouldnāt now.
Classic fresh, definitely not at the moment. I didnāt even get my main into Naxx, nor did a complete AQ run.
And thatās why I didnāt transfer my characters to TBC. I havenāt really finished vanilla yet. I didnāt get my rogue into Naxx, and I have a 58 paladin who hasnāt even raided yet, along with 45 priest and druid. Iād like to raid with some different roles.
So thereās still more Iād like to do before even considering classic fresh. Why do the same thing Iāve just did just to run out of time.
Unfortunately on my server, Oceanic PvE, the population isnāt large enough to support raids yet, but thereās frequent dungeon runs, and if the pop keeps growing ZG will become a possibility in the future (weāre halfway there).
Realistically I donāt think Iāll ever play classic fresh, as itās literally going to take a lifetime to level all my alts anyway (I complete all the quests during levelling, not just boost them).
Since I didnāt get into TBC this time round Iāll probably play TBC fresh when they release it in five years time or so. By that time maybe Iāve got a few more classic characters to 60.
