No news from Blizz… IIRC, at the 2 week mark of SL launch they put out a statement boasting of 3.4 million copies sold .
DF not sold much ? I mean Endwalker sold less than a million copies at launch and that was even announced by Square

Theyre doing a free trial for evokers and giving away 30 days game time with new purchases of the game.
Its safe to say its not doing as well as they wanted.
I mean…why would they come back in droves?
The new features are extremely niche and limited in its capacities.
This is the first time I remember them not announcing day 1 sales.
Probably not as much as SL. It is going to take time for people to trust Blizzard after two back to back trash fires. Doesn’t matter how good DF is or will be. It could be the GOAT expansion, but it wouldn’t make record sales because of Blizzard’s record.
WoW players always try out the new expansion , even if they stay unsubbed most of the last one. Atleast it used to be that way
I mean Dragonflight doesn’t really have any major gameplay changes or features.
Talent shifts, a single uninspiring class and flying on turbo mode isn’t much gameplay wise compared the typical endgame model which is possibly viewed as old, recycled and antiquated.
Compared to SL, DF is miles better
The aesthetic of Dragonflight was simply not appealing.
It felt too explicitly feminine and lacked a lot of “cool” to take me in personally.
I almost didn’t play.
That doesn’t necessarily mean by much.
Once again loot has been stifled again at the expansions launch and a lot of people aren’t going to stick around for drip fed honey rewards.
Oh sweet Jesus ….
I was very disappointed that I couldn’t make a Dracthyr Warrior at launch.
And that they can’t be normally mogged is another blow to their viability as something appealing to play towards the masses.
Sorry?
This is a pretty common sentiment with people I’ve talked with.
Only your opinions are right?
That was before cata,WoD,BfA, and SL.
Can only get burnt so many times
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
Their opinion is as right as it is incorrect, as opinions are, hence them being an opinion.
I agree with both opinions of this player (DF>SL) and the Sweet Jesus reaction to your opinion farther up thread.
I didn’t ever get the feeling that this is a “explicitly feminine” expansion, especially when I’m helping two dark and edgy male dragons in a lake of lava, or a daddy-dragon with a nip slip. Are some parts pretty and ladylike? Sure. But there’s “masculine” parts and I feel there’s a good balance.
As all things should be. -Thanos.
Dragons are traditionally cool.
I have a friend who is an amazing illustrator, really quite talented. I showed him some of the promotional art for DF and he said it looked (a word that starts with G that I won’t repeat).
I don’t use that language, but he isn’t wrong. A lot of regular people feel that way.
I’m irregular?
Bingo! You can only anger your player base so many times before they start to turn on you. SL was the final straw for many people. It’s going to take multiple good expansions in order for sales to get back to where they were. And IMO DF is FAR better than BFA or SL ever was.
Blizzard have made their choice and they’ll have to take it with them to the grave.
I don’t like the aesthetics much either.
Your average Necron has more personality than Warcrafts dragonkin.
