How many alts

In Vanilla, I had a main and no alts.
Original BC a main and 1 alt.
Wrath brought me up to 4 max levels.
I do not believe I had more than that until WoD when they hit us with that brutal content drought. Looking at BC, I have a level 60 main and a few characters like this one that I tried and just never enjoyed. Is everyone going to be altoholics this time around? Personally, I am sticking with a main and an alt.

In vanilla I had a main and 1 alt of each class. None of the alts were 60 though. In BC I lowered it to my main(paladin), and a priest, druid, warrior, and hunter alt. All of them made max in BC. Dropped the warrior alt in warlords, but kept the rest, always maxing them out until Legion where I stopped caring about my alts and just played my main.

This time in BC? Who knows. Depends how into I get. Really just waiting for Wrath.

I have One main and 2 alts, all 60. So, plan to add a hunter to the lineup with the TBC boost. What makes it to 70 will be another story. Probably will only end up with 2 70s, unless content is way too easy for raiding to take up significant time.

Always had one of each class/race/proffession.

My paladin and druid will be leveled to 70. I’ll raid T4 on the paladin then likely switch to PvP. No major post-70 plans for the druid.

As of now, I have 3 lower level alts that I will likely grind up. Maybe not 70, but high enough to max their professions.

I admire and can’t understand people with 1 main and no alts.

I have been an altoholic for as long as I have played wow. Sure, I have a main, but it will often change as the expansion goes on and I grow tired of the game play.

However, I do tend to main hybrids. I am partial to druids. I may or may not have a problem with four maxed out druids in retail and its looking like I might have two for TBC. One on each of my accounts I use.

In the time I’ve played WoW, have had tens of alts and no main.

Or, more correctly, my “main” changes with my whim of the moment.

One Horde account, one Alliance account.
Mains: Druid, Paladin (on each account)
Alts: the other classes

About 1/3 of the player population has many alts. Probably in several guilds all raiding as mains. Some players even look for morning or very late night guilds so they can get in extra raids. IT’s quite pathetic. They have little to no guild loyality, and will flip on you in a heart beat if there needs aren’t being met.

The real question is will you have an alt with reputations and attunements done?

One main. Maaaaaybe one alt, but doubtful.

No alts. 2 (or 3?) level 60 mages. That’s all I had time for with all the PvP and raiding I did. Our entire guild was that way.

Ill eventually have a mage and a warlock parked outside of Karazhan for the sole purpose of transporting people in my raid in case they forgot reagents, ammo or repair and giving them food.

I started 2006 with warrior, then LK I added a warlock, then pally, and for mop for pvp had 4 toons warrior, lock, pally and mage. And played those same toons except the mage for all expacs I played.

For TBC most likely my Warlock that’s already 60, and Then my Warrior who is 45 now.

Vanilla: 1 Max Character.
TBC: 1 Max Character. (Rerolled a Paladin)
Wrath: 2 Max Character (TBC Main + DK)
Cata: 1 Max Character (Vanilla Character, for Arena)

You won’t need the warlock since the summoning stone should work. That will save you a slot

I have 17 characters now. Not counting bank alts.

When prepatch drops, I’ll delete my three bank alts and make a blood elf paladin, a draenei paladin, and a blood elf mage.

I enjoy the game, so why wouldn’t I want to experience every part of it? It’s not like this is Modern, where the only difference between a damage warrior and a rogue is cosmetic.

I have a 60 rogue and a 60 mage. I also have various other classes but none of them are above level 25. Once we get pre patch I’ll be leveling a Protadin for pve and retiring the rogue and mage to pvp.

Currently: Three 60s, one 53, one 36, a level 1 guild master, a few low level bank toons.
For TBCC Six 70’s. One main raider, One alt raider (time permitting), the rest gatherers and crafters. A level 1 guild master for Gbank purposes. Depending on the length of the pre-patch I may level a Belf pally.

I plan on having one main and 8 alts at 70. I enjoy the leveling experience.
