How many 3k+ characters have queued since 8.1?

With 3k+ rating probably needed to be in contention for r1, how many characters that are at 3k+ rating right now have actually queued since 8.1? A select few people are still playing, but most others only queue on alts or not at all. How absurd is it that 90% of rank 1 titles are going to be handed out to characters That didn’t queue a single arena for the last 6 weeks of this god awful joke of a season.

It seems impossible to me that Blizzard even has one employee who works on WoW pvp in the same world where this season exists. If even one person of significantly below average intelligence was working on wow pvp, it would take them 5 minutes to see how big of a joke the game is right now.

How many more seasons is blizzard going to ruin with horrible balancing, poorly timed major patches, or somehow screwing up the mmr system mid season AGAIN?

ya boy has qd

Has been obtainable but a pretty obnoxious grind. Hasn’t been much incentive for the top to que and that’s mostly because a giant content patch hit mid season that also initially hurt MMR and even once it was fixed activity drops plus the better players dropping their MMR anyways made it more frustrating to reobtain.

Now that it’s last week of season you can def be high MMR again, but there still has been so little incentive for most of the top people to que. Myself personally I haven’t seen any reason to play since I wanted to get 3400 and there was no way that was going to happen until maybe now that it’s the last week. Even then though, it’s not even like I would have to play and this can go for many other teams.

Honestly this is just a huge side effect of having a major content patch mid season. The very high activity in 8.0 definitely dropped significantly which sucks.

I’m not saying that the rating is impossible to get now, just that it’s crazy that so many people will have sat for 1/3rd of the season and get the top tier end of season reward. Shouldn’t there be some sort of rating decay system like in other games to prevent this level of sitting from happening.

There should be a lot of things in this game. But when blizzard gives zero fuks about pvp, this is what you get. Another half baked attempt at improving the pvp side of the game.

They changed titles, in a foolish way.

They made gear matter again which improved customization, but didn’t give back vendors.

Etc.

Ya what Starfail said.

Rating decay or DQ, I’m down with either.

There shouldn’t even be a R1 title this season tbh. It’s like winning blizzcon because the other team fell through the map.

8.0 sitters are closer to bug abusers than legitimate high rated players if you think about it. Although I get it’s blizz’s fault and not their’s.

Inb4 the “Got my 1st R1!” posts get trolled and OP cries bullying.

The possibility of getting 3.4 increases drastically if you queue up.

That’s the whole point of rating inflation actually.

Problem is they changed how the inflation stuff worked with 8.1 apparently so that was really the problem.

It’s Blizzard’s fault not the people who got 3k+ in the first place.

I don’t blame them for not Qing up after they changed how it works

Does now, for the past month or so it would only have the option of going down (everyones mmr was nerfed, most people were lower as a result therefore would only achieve like 2 point wins and 24 point losses which would never get recovered since our MMR baseline would have been lower than our CR to begin with). This would have applied to any high team you only had the chance of going down in rating for a good while.

Oh I know, I tanked from 3k to 2.8 with positive winrate and got it back up only recently(still not 3k). 3.2 mmr games were way easier than 2.8mmr games are now tbh, barely considering enhance nerfs.

Still played the game I’m paying to play though :stuck_out_tongue:

Focusing on the trivial with suggestions like this instead of questioning why a major content patch was implemented mid season alongside an MMR cut.

i would get r1 but im homeless atm

I wouldn’t consider sitting to be an “abuse of a bug”. I’m sure most people in the top 100 would love to q the game, myself included. The season should have ended with 8.1 as all seasons should end with a major patch. I think the main reason they delayed the ending of the season is because they didn’t want the pvp season to offset the release of the raid. They clearly don’t want down time in between seasons and having new seasons start before new raid releases in legion resulted in pvpers being significantly higher ilvl than raiders. It’s really unfortunate because a lot of people who played classes not in the 8.0 meta are going to miss out on getting titles, but that’s how it was in legion too, few players will make it work but some just miss out. Blizzard is definitely to blame for lack of participation atm, not the players.

Hi James!!!

But in all actuality it is what it is. Of EVERYTHING blizzard has done with bfa / balance of classes, but more so rng of gearing, players sitting a title cutoff pre huge inflated mmr has happened in the past and happens again this season. However the cutoffs they released are still rather low so post 8.1 players can still definitely achieve it!

I actually like the idea of rating decay. That’s exactly how it was in vanilla with the original PVP titles.
