How long will you play Classic WoW?

This won’t be like the old days where we had to move on to BC and up… we will have Classic for basically as long as Blizzard keeps it running.

Let’s say it lasts 10 years, how much of that time period will you play it?

At some point we will all have to quit… right?

Likely a few years if it stays locked to vanilla, or until mid-late Wrath if they decide to make progression servers, which is more likely to have longevity.

The only 2 versions of the game I will play is Classic and BC. After that it wasn’t the same game anymore.

I’m good for 3 to 4 years. Hopefully they will find a way to extend the game further for us after that. Fingers crossed that Classic is a huge success.

Until I get bored of it.

I’ll prob play it indefinitely, or until retail fixes their m+ dungeon meta.

Wrath was the beginning of the downfall, but it was still entertaining enough. I’m not sure I’ll stick around long in the final patch, but the raids and the continent was very good. Too easy for my tastes, though.

I give myself a month or two. MMOs don’t hold my attention like they used to.

Indefinitely. Classic Vanilla and most of TBC WoW is the greatest game ever made! I’ll be subbed until I am no longer physically or mentally capable of playing…and even then as an old jaded geezer, I will still try!

If they release an authentic and permanent recreation of patch 1.12, I’ll play it for the forseeable future.

If they release an authentic and permanent recreation of patch 2.4, I’ll play it for even longer.

If they release an authentic and permanent recreation of patch 3.3, I’ll play it occasionally. I wouldn’t subscribe for just that, but I’ll make death knight characters (and probably a fury warrior, since I liked the concept of Titan’s Grip when it was first introduced).

If they release anything “progressive,” I won’t play it at all. I went through getting invested in characters and seeing the ground get blasted from under them with Cataclysm once, and that was three times too many.

I’ll play until I get to kill KT. After that, it depends on how good alliance is at random BGs. IF they get 3 capped every WSG I’m sure I’ll just take another break and wait until TBC.

I would stay subbed during the break though, if I they did Vanilla well.

I’ll probably play until Lich King servers come out (if they ever do). Not sure what it is, but I just couldn’t really get into that one in the beginning. Played the tail end because I heard Azeroth was changing permanently.

On and off probably as long as I can move a mouse. It was a good game, lots of replayability considering different experiences as different classes and factions and to a small degree races.

There isn’t a class I don’t want to level, and I liked leveling, so hopefully the limit of 50 toons would be removed at some point, it’s fine if it’s a few years from now or a decade or two.

There are several classes I’d like to level with different talent specs, for example both boomkin and kitty, also fury and arms and prot for a warrior. Though for a hunter, I’d probably only do a beast master.

There are certain instances which I prefer running with different characters and roles. And they are not all level 60, so I’d need to level same toons over and over to replay those instances.

Classic will be my last stint with WoW, for however long it keeps my attention. Retail has done nothing but get worse and worse from the start of Cata, and it will only continue this trend, IF they decide to continue making Xpacs.

So you’ll be playing Classic forever?

It’ll be my main, staple Blizzard game-- meaning I’ll play it as long as it exists. Oh I might take breaks from time to time, because I have to do that with MMOs. But I’ll always come back.
