So I was doing today’s assault, and while I was in the middle of freeing the prisoners on the Horde airship, I heard this familiar sounding music. I couldn’t place it, until I noticed the bounty hunted debuff.
Bemused that I got the debuff on the one purely PVE quest out of the preliminary five, I faced a conundrum. I already had the Horde Slayer title; should I get rid of the buff at the first opportunity to avoid being targeted? Or did I have a moral obligation to stick around killing Horde until one of them got me?
In the end I decided on a middle path: just do what I would have done anyway. I did the one ground quest that I hadn’t already completed, the one that involves finishing off wounded Horde. I avoided the five man Horde group there since I was solo, and killed a couple of solo Horde. I tried not to give Horde opportunities to kill me, and none even attacked me. Then I did the final bombing quest, turned the assault in, flew to Boralus and picked up the 7th Legion cache I’d just finished earning, spent some time disposing of drops, and finally lost the bounty when I went to Stormwind to check my auctions.
What do you think? Should I have stuck around near the assault to give the Horde more chances at me? Should I have relogged to get rid of it right away? What would you have done, or what do you do, in this situation?
I wouldn’t have made a forum post about it, that’s for sure.

The forum needs some stuff other than endless beating of dead horses. Besides, I’m genuinely interested in the answer. Horde are currently underrepresented on RP shards; among other things, I wonder if letting them pick up more bounties would help entice more of them into turning on war mode.
You should fight solo until you have something better to do. It could be a long time.

I Think its because we have the op racials and therefore we cant be bothered with you tbh.

I feel like every time I get it I’m solo in the middle of no where and every time I see the horde with it they’re invariably in the middle of a huge deathball with 3 resto druids.
I don’t feel an obligation to stick around if I wasn’t already planning to stick around.

Our OP racials aside…
I got bountied in the Sound the other night, killing alliance in the shared quest areas. I was solo, but there was so many horde around it didn’t seem likely the alliance would get to me.
I was thinking about hearthing out, after the same few alliance questers got killed for the nth time.
Then I noticed the numbers of Alliance were finally starting to increase.
And I felt if the alliance were finally going to group up to get the bounty and do the quest, they’d have to earn it. And they deserved a shot at redemption after getting slaughtered for so long.
Boy, did they finally group up. I chased a hunter right into a wall of 20-30 mounted alliance slowly coming into the quest zone.
So I charged in. I didn’t last long.
I got my Butch and Sundance in Bolivia moment, the alliance got a bounty and probably got to finish the quests (I didn’t stick around after that). Everybody gets a happy memory.
Of course, if I had something else I was doing I would have left and not thought anything of it.
Never considered relogging to get rid of the bounty though. It would seem to me if you don’t want a potential bounty on your head you shouldn’t be killing anyone.

Woah, you were solo? That’s a first.
All jokes aside, whenever I have the Horde Assassin debuff, I always expect to get the Bounty debuff sooner or later. I find the area that I’ll want to go to as soon as I get the bounty buff, and will continue killing Alliance until then. The area I pick is usually an area that’s difficult for Alliance to get to, such as on top of the mountain in Drustvar near Arom’s Stand, and will sit there with a friend or two while we watch Alliance try to get up or prevent them from getting up.
I stick around for it at the very least, and if I’m in a tough spot, I’ll escape one way or another and continue to fight while running to other difficult spots, until I die or until I get bored.
I wanna pvp with you sometime add my btag!
I have a bounty in game currently, get them all the time, and I basically just do what you did. Continue to go about doing what I generally do anyway. If the Horde get me, then kudos to them, if not, well they had their chance, I’m not gonna sit around just to make it easy for them.

I just relog to clear it if I get it. I already have the title, so there’s no benefit for me for having a bounty.
The only thing I have a problem with is abusing game mechanics (server hopping, entering and leaving phased areas, etc) to avoid dying when being chased. Other than that, I’d say pretty much anything a player decides to do is fine.
Depends … if I have lots of time , I wait till some
alliance gets me . Otherwise I re log so that I can do WQ’s or whatever else I planned to do that day without alliance hunting me down .
Yes, you did. Kill them all!
I just got the achievement myself, but if I get the buff again I will definitely keep fighting. It just adds an extra layer of fun knowing “they coming for me now”.
