I got booted, given a deserter buff, and I was moving around and attacking? What is going on here? This was in the Brawl. WTF?
The team didn’t want you and reported you afk.
Why is that allowed?
If you’ve been repeatedly reported and kicked for being AFK in multiple battlegrounds, you may be considered a repeat offender. Repeat offenders may receive the idle debuff and have a chance to stay in the battleground by entering in PvP combat within 1 minute. However, if the repeat offender receives the inactive debuff, they will not receive the 1 minute to engage in PvP combat but will instead be immediately kicked.
You been afking a lot OP?
No!
I’m grinding rep to be Exalted with the AB faction. I typically hold GM, and there are times when no one comes by.
Probably a group of guildies or a premade group all reported you at the same time, would be my guess.
I find it hard to believe that this happened in an Arathi Basin… unless of course there was a group of guildies or premade group in there with you. Probably just bad luck if that’s the case.
I play a good number of Alliance epic bgs (with 25 more players than Arathi Basin), and I have never ever ever been afk booted from a match, so there’s that
This is my first time where I haven’t typed /afk myself
I had one where the match ended, I left, and then I had Deserter when I loaded out of the game.
We had a team mate tonight same thing happened to him in the brawl. Wasn’t afk, was guarding a node.
Yeah by the sounds of it you are saying you are a repeat offender.
Na it happens. A team kept reporting me until I got kicked with no debuff the final time.
If you weren’t afk and there were no arguments or disagreements beforehand giving them a reason to mass report you, and nothing was noted in BG chat beforehand (“you there?” or “thundah is afk, flag him”) then report the incident.
If it was five dolts mic’ed up that decided to report you just for the fun of costing you honor, conquest, and fifteen minutes of playtime then the GMs will review the incident and see if they have a history of doing it. If they are repeat offenders they will get hit with a warning of potential ban time.
Ikr?
All this concern with giving people deserter and booting them, no concern whatsoever that so many casual bgs are just one sided snoozefests.
Then this is probably it. A rogue sapped and capped me and a guy goes “Shaman is probably AFK” and from there it went down hill. I’m certain it was the “If I’m solo guarding this, and the 14 of you can’t capture a third node, who is really afk?”
Yeah, that probably did it.
Still odd that this is allowed.
It’s a hidden feature to fight against bots that can keep themselves in combat.
That was the intended purpose, but players abuse it.
Hidden for those people that just mindlessly charge to their doom. In BFA I used to watch these people in consternation rushing off to get farmed, and they would even do it close to the end of the game.
Perhaps they were the bots tbh.
Did you call it out? Not sure how they’d think you were afk if you typed gm or mines into chat before it was capped. It sounds like you just sat through the sap and watched them cap without saying anything.
BTW as an Ele shaman you shd never sit a base if there are rogues in the opposing team . You can leave the node empty and go join in a team fight and you will be more useful than sitting there and getting sapped / blinded and capped on .
