Holy crap the gating of storyline behind rep is so dumb. I have hated that every time theyāve done it, and this expansion in particular itās bad. Iām sure most of the playerbase hasnāt even seen the full story, and thereās stuff that happens in game weāre all like āhuh, wonder what that happenedā when the reasons for it are behind some impossibly long grind. Valdrakken accord rep as an example ā its like what, 21 or 22 to get the green dragonflight stuff? Jesus. It took me months to get there WITH a contract up. I didnāt do world quests all the time, but I did a significant number of them plus all the zone quests I had available.
I get it, the game needs things to do that are easy to develop. I just think when you put in a system like that you really need to let players of all walks/types experience it, or as close as possible instead of āthou shalt grind world quests ad infinitum and thou shalt like itā crap we keep getting. What about our pvp homies who want to enjoy a bit of storyline? Theyāve gotta do world quests for a couple months between matches? Thatās just downright silly.

I will never bother with any of this renown stuff.
Maybe because we donāt hug Research Under Fire every second every hour. Do you want your new Sword of the Lifeless?
Tbh Iām only like R10 on my main, but Iām running Abberus 8x 4-5 nights a week so I only have time for it usually in the morning with my coffee or if Iām alt screening Netflix

If youāre gonna leech off the taxpayers at least play a better game with the funding, gawsh.
Thatās why I am not participating in the season 2 upgrade gear raid/m+ content. Going down the rabbit hole of upgrades I just need a break from that push.
Maybe they canāt afford a better game because of their Cheeto and Monster addiction.
You know those renown tokens we get from quests?
Iāve just got them sitting my bags so I can instantly complete the faction quest every week.
Why? Iāve been busy doing other things, honestly. Same for the other renowns

I was level 70 then deleted my vanilla toon. Actually I deleted 3 of them.
LOAM sucks
I havenāt even started the Loam faction renown grind yet. Iāll get around to it at some point, but thereās no rush. Iāve spent most of my time in old content and will continue to do so.
How can people play the game in ways different than how I play? I mean how can they? How?

Iām guessing killing rares or chasing those mini events?
Iām roughly 13 by doing quests/WQ
Rares donāt even drop rep and are generally a waste of time for geared players (though I still kill them for other rare drops like manuscripts, pets, and the one mount). But you can name every other source of rep and Iāve probably done it on cooldown, including doing digs on alts to fish for the BoA rep tokens. Darkmoon Faire buff when it was in town was also big since it overlapped two campaign tokens from chapters 3 and 4ā¦and Iām already human. Loamm contract rounded out the rest (doing every single Isles WQ with it), especially this week since the contract rep is buffed by the world quest event.
