How is everyone not renown 20 with the Loam faction yet?

9999 boulders is a bit too much if you ask me. Maybe someday.

Because I find them boring.

Oh really how?

Just keep clicking the dialogue options, starting with ā€œI canā€™t afford that.ā€

Ahh ok. Iā€™ll do that later I guess!

Why,do you wish to know? Are you? I bet not.

Because it truly just dosent matter at all for the content i do.

Because the events, outrageously high hp on rares and WQā€™s suck and grinding for renown has burned me out.

Unless they bring back championing a rep via tabards or some way of doing it in content that is actually enjoyable to me (raids, 5 mans, and at various points pvp) Iā€™m done with that garbage. I did it in Wrath, release cata, Legion, WoD, BFA, and early shadowlands on multiple characters. Sometimes I did it on like 5 characters (as in BFA) because I needed unlocks for said character. never again. I have retired from tedium. This is the one hill this game always wants to die on and it needs to stop ā€“ account wide rep needs to make it in, and it needs to be WAY less tedious.

I realized a while back that I might as well just not even pay attention to rep. Even if I get some rep on one character, I never know which character Iā€™ll be playing instead next month. It is so aggravating to go through the same slog on multiple characters so Iā€™ve pretty much convinced myself to skip it on all of them.

I mean what is there even with the moles? One mount? One pet? Some dragon customizations that donā€™t mean anything? It is so mindblowingly easy to just skip it all and chase flightstones because at least those get you some ilvl. I like catchup gear but I never fall for trying to ā€œcompleteā€ one of these catchup zones. I keep telling myself Iā€™m gonna finish mechagon for the model W and Nazjatar for the crab, but of course I never do. Iā€™m actually so far from either goal that Iā€™ve been thrown off from even attempting to make progress. There are some things in this game (like most rep rewards) that Iā€™m just not going to get and Iā€™m surprisingly alright with that.

Itā€™s a shame they put so much emphasis on rep because any time theyā€™ve really pushed it as necessary thatā€™s when I tend to take long breaks. I will literally quit playing before I get myself involved in another rep grind. BfA broke my brain with that garbage, I used to get an AR and then unsub due to burnout.

Oh and good thing I donā€™t care about the story, since they are gating it behind rep.

Mainly, it was unbelievably bad timing and luck on my part.

I got injured at work right before the patch launched. Specifically, it was my arms that got injured.

So no typing, no WoW for me. I had to watch lots of TV instead (which is boring for me. I prefer gaming).

Iā€™m almost 100% better now! But I can only play maybe 2 hours of WoW before my arms start hurting again. Good news is, Iā€™ve started physical therapy and Iā€™m making good progress!

Iā€™ll have so much to catch up on over the summer. I canā€™t wait!

I think my main and my Alts are all at level 2 still. And they will probably be that way until next patch. Unless LFR gives rep.

ā€¦why are you rep shaming me?

Because renown is just another added tedious task on top of all the others.

Do you guys not have finals?

I mean I donā€™t personally, but my HS, Middle School kids do and Iā€™m busy enough with that and helping all of them test prep. Video game industry has weird timing on their drop date picks.

That they do!! Iā€™m a teacher (yes, with injured arms. Ridiculous story), and Iā€™m always bummed out by the game industryā€™s schedule because, like you said, they are not school-friendly ā€” to both students and staff!

Yay itā€™s a Sunday Trollā„¢ thread!
